i`ll try and answer.... lol

can you buy a R33 GTR for £5.5k in any condition - yes if you looked hard enough, but as R33 GTS-T said, it will be a shed in all honesty. so if you just wanted to know that, and are happy with that answer, my question to you is why wouldnt you double that to go and buy one from a memmber on here say, who has many posts and you can investigate for yourself, the issues/problems that member has had with his car to see the history as and when things happened?

Its a buyers market at the mo and im very tempted to take mine off because i refuse to let mine go for silly money. There are some good ones on here going for about the £8.5k and upwards mark.

Your other question of "how can you tell one thas a `minter` wont blow up too?" - well you cant really as you never know whats gona happen tomorrow, however there is a FAQ thread on here which gives you hints and tips of what you need to look out for when buying a GTR. Oil pressure is probably the main, checking it when cold, warm and warm on idle will indicate if the engines good. but then if a new owner bys a `minter` from a forum member say, doesnt warm it up right on his first drive as he wants to play, rants it and blows it, he`ll come on here saying how crap it was blah blah, but fail to mention he limited it in nearly every gear because he thought it would satnd up..... always two sides to a story.

When looking for a GTR, dont buy the first one you drive, go for a drive in - even bad ones feel good once your on boost.

When you buy a performance car like a GTR, you HAVE to do your homework or you will just be giving money away and having to fork out for the mistakes later - which could be a few hours later if your not careful.

I wish you good luck on your search mate, and also look forward to my question being answered.
