Aftermarket fuel rail install
How easy or hard is it to change to an aftermarket fuel rail such as the likes of HKS, SARD, etc ?
Is it a straight forward procedure or is there a lot of mucking around needed to accomplish this task ? Your feedback will help me out, So do voice out. Thanks. |

sard fuel rail
I't not hard but it is really fidly. Try not to drop any of the insulators or metal clips for the injector plug into the engine bay as you'll never get them back out again. I've got a sard rail and have set it up so that fuel enters into either side of the rail and exits at the centre. If you're planning on doing the same set up then you'll need to insert a 'T' piece into the fuel inlet pipe to split it.

Which injectors do you have? Most of the Japanese brands (HKS, Blitz and Sard etc) are actually re-branded Nippon Denso injectors. If its one these then you will need the fuel rail with 11mm holes. The best way to find out which ones you need would be to compare the injectors. Measure the diameter of the section that fits into the rail. The 1000cc injectors should be slightly bigger than the current 600cc injectors you have installed (assuming their nismo injetcors).

What colour are your injectors? JECS make the ones Tomei and Nismo sell (they make the original GTR ones too) and these are 10.5mm
The Densos will still fit a stock rail just make sure you lube the seals well before you insert them! |

thanks mifn
my injectors are 600cc nismo's. they are running a bit overkill up in the rev range. i have my limiter at 7200rpm now, to avoid killing anything. im running 645bhp on high boost altough i rarely use it. will be doing a track day soon on low boost. but i will probably have to buy a fuel rail and a set of 1000cc injectors just to be sure. thanks mate |

Roughly 650 HP at the fly
Fuel pressure doesnt drop at all (Fuel pressure gauge in cabin) Nismo pump will flow 4.6 litres per minute I am running 800 Sards. So .8 X 6 = 4.8 litres per minute The most i see is 90 - 91% on the PFC hand controller which is roughly 4.36 Litres per minute. Still a little bit of headroom... but not as much as I would like. Thats on a 2.8 litre with twin GT - RS's @ 1.65 bar |

yes piggaz
i did the math the other way around. started by the injectors, and roughly came to the same result. 800cc on 85% duty will give me 680cc x6=4080cc/min=4.08l/min=244l/h bearing in mind that the fuel pump is capable of 276, we agree on the safe side. lets just see how much duty i get when i get the chance to raise the rev to 8000. i am revving to 7250 so that the injectors dont pass 90% duty |
