Cancelled Order

I ordered one with satnav and allocated Middlehurst as its closest to me. Since I placed the order the communication has been near non existent I received 1 email from Nissan confirming the order and have made a few calls to Middlehurst who just don't know anything.
Just got letter yesterday from Nissan giving delivery date of 1st quarter of 2010.
I wish you all good luck with your orders.

I dont mean to be rude, but what sort of 'communication' do u want?
Your not getting married...I'm pretty sure Nissan is quite busy atm

Place an order...pay deposit...get confirmation...wait for Spring 2009 ....Get a nice, shiny R35 delivered to u in a bubble wrap.

I think its more the fact he's been told he'll get it in 2010 that's pissed him off

Agree. You place an order which is now going to be 2010 due to demand, late 2009 if you are lucky. you will get an email off nissan confirming (which the rest of us have just got too) the date. then you wait! you will get the chance to drive one on a track as part of a pre order customer, and a few events throughout the year to help with the wait. but that is it, just wait!!!
this is the best car ever and would have been an honour to own whenever you would have got it.

Once all deposits are non-refundable and people have accepted positions and their fate, the love will all return!.
Talk will then get onto track days, events, more in-the-flesh photos etc etc

i think the point being made for this thread is the lack of transparency and VIP treatment when going through the ordering process. - yeah, we all know that once you've palced your order its in a queue, but Nissan have managed the whole ordering process so shambolically that its no flippin wonder the poor guy wants some firm confirmation, some handholding etc for what is a pretty significant purchase - this sort of money will buy you an apartment up this way (granted, not maybe the best quality, but still a roof over your head) just to put things into persepective i.e. its a major purchase, and a sizable deposit for most hence need some sort of firm commitment from Nissan.
Have to disagree with the tone of some of the responses on this thread - i for one do not expect to just pay my deposit, sit back and wait - Nissan dont intend for this either otherwise they wouldn't have set up the specific website for owners to track progress, get updates either - its just the process isn't working as it should and promotes lack of confidence across many of us VIP's buying the car..

dont think you meant any harm, you were just putting across your own personal perspective. - i can only guess you have come out better with the lottery than most, and if so well done!, if not, then you're just being honest....., and for some people yes, its a case of place order and simply sit back.

if you walk into a ferrari showroom and oder a 430, you also do not get any special communications. And if you are 'just' the ordinary millionaire.. the waiting list could be 12mths or more..and dun be expected to be treated like a VIP..

The bottom line is you guys in UK have to wait for a GTR that has speed cut removed, sat-navi fully functional, suspension tweak to your delight.. blah blah blah...

come on.. you guys at least get a fully warrenty car.. ppl from the far east have shit.. and our sat navi is not working, worst paying a hell lot more.. AND we dun get any VIP treatment...

If ppl wants the car now.. just import it.. since you are already paying 55k.. whats another 5k more?? I've been hearing i should get an audi, porshe etc.. so if you have THAT much more cash.. whats paying more? the price is still cheaper then buying a 911TT...

i just think alot of ppl whine to much... 55k is dirt cheap for a supercar. and if you dun want it.. dun have to come in and broadcast.. i for one.. is not interested.

I hate to burst your bubble but you certainly ARE treated as a VIP! Communication is thorough and the experience of buying a Ferrari should be recognised as unique.
