Most people don't make it around there in there own car... and nothing, repeat 'nothing drive like a rental...' Although I will keep my fingures crossed... in this case I would love to be wrong.... R. |

Sadly that is not going to happen in a million years.
Andy M said it was a one of the half circuit layouts on the GP circuit. Still more interesting to track regulars than the National circuit at Silverstone. And of course the Nordschleife is next door!

Would I be correct in assuming its the same David Yu of evo fame ? I asked the head instructor on tuesday and he assured me they were using the full ring with additional run off areas (what ever that means) and that he is over there to instruct. I must admit I was a little sceptical, but I guess well see in the next month. cheers Michael |

I suppose there is a possibility that they are going to use the full Nurburgring GP circuit, which if true, would be fantastic.
But the 14 mile long Nordschleife has NO run off on most of the corners, hence its fearsome reputation. It is also extremely expensive to hire exclusively and even more expensive to marshal properly, as you can imagine, especially for the sheer number of days the event is running over. I would bet my Corvette, Ferrari and GT-R that the Race Academy days will not be taking part on the Nordschleife! Chubby, there are some hefty barriers in place to stop you "accidentally" turning onto the Nordschleife! ![]()

I have been on many a Car Maunfactures car events - and most are hand you the keys and off you go on a pre-determined route ish - where you can really do what you want in the car - one was in Mallorca in the hills - quite a time when it rains...
I would indeed be very happy if we are going to use the Nordschleife mountain route, but still can't see it. David - as we are staying very close, a little night excercise might be in order!!! After a few beers.... R. |

South Oxfordshire to Folkestone for the 10:50 Shuttle (may try for an earlier one), then the usual E42 drive (avoiding Brussels). I think it's Calais, Dunkerque, Lille, Charleroi, Liege, Vervier, Prun (?sp) then cross country through Gerolstein. Got to be there and checked-in for the Nordschleiffe to open at 18:00!!

We have just organised something informal ourselves, over on the ferry, landing the morning of the 17th and returning the night of the 19th. Look forward to meeting you on the day. Neil |
