Chubby / David and nayone else on the race academy at the ring on 15th Sept,

Has anyone confirmed a crossing time for Sat 13th Sept on Eurotunnel? And hotels? Seems to be between the Dorint and Tiergarten.

Am a ring virgin but wanted to take my 997 2S down for a Sunday spin. Aiming to head down Sat morning so seeing if there is a convoy I can join.

Cheers

Haven't booked yet, but I will probably book a midday-ish Eurotunnel.
It's only about 4.5 hours drive to the Ring and I may get a lap or two in on Saturday evening, but won't be rushing as we have all day Sunday.

I'm staying at the Tiergarten. Highly recommended and very reasonable.
If the above suits you, happy to hook up and convoy over.

I'll look at train times over the weekend as I'm off to Bedford Autodrome tomorrow.

Dont forget the time difference - a 10:50 Shuttle gets you to Calais at 12:25.

Just to say I have now booked the 12:20pm Eurotunnel on Sat 13th September, coming back 7:20pm on the Monday.

Anyone else booked for the 15th am and want to convoy down?

I'm booked in for the 16th Sept (there are still spaces too according to their site).

I'm collecting my C63 from the factory the day before, so it'll be quite an automotive 48hrs

See the first post on P7 of this thread. It's ok, I'll let you keep up...

geezajob, shame we'll miss each other by a day, but hey, it will give us the chance to win a trophy each, eh?

What time are you hitting Nurburg on the 15th?

Itinerary is still up in the air, but provisionally we fly out in the morning of the 15th for a mid-day car collection in Stuttgart.. Do the 180 mile trip to a hotel in Grenzau (reason: Merc are paying) which is about 40 miles from teh 'Ring.. then do the A.M session on the 16th, then schlep down to Switzerland that night.. then back to Calais the next day.

We are out first thing Saturday morning - 8am train or there abouts. 3 cars at least.

Staying at Tiergarten as usual.

Having been to these things before (track sessions) how will we know who is who before the event - i.e. at the hotels???

Would be nice to have a drink say Sunday evening before the session..

What do we think?
