nakamichi sound systhems . .wow

:: Nakamichi ::

A former customer from the garage I worked , bought am IS350 last year. He removed the orginal stereo and went for a full nakamichi in car audio kit.

I knew the sound quality of the Levinson units, used by Lexus, but this is just a new level of experience for me. Amazing sound quality

Somebody has got a Nakamichi sound systhem?

Great reputation for sound quality, especially the CD700 considered by some as the best sounding car head unit ever.

It is a shame that some of their units suffer from poor reliability.

Yes - bought a brand new CD500 off ebay last year for a bargain price.
I'll see how long it lasts before the CD transport fails.

the first Lexus imported into the States had a factory Nakamichi option. $2000 but I think it was worth it - my dad got it and the silent ride plus the amazing stereo - the only thing it could really have used was more amplifier power, but that's coming from a car stereo guy who feels that 800 watts RMS through at least two amps is a minimum for in-car use

I think the first gen. Lexus GS300 has a Nakamichi as option, but that was the cassette unit.

Nakamichi produced probably the best Cassette , recording, playback units ever. I would love to have the 3 head cassette unit in my house. Some say that a quality recorded cassette tape, played on a Nakamichi 3 head unit has a better sound then a CD?!?
Did they made that 3 head unit for cars as well??

i have a Nakimichi CD head unit...the quality of the sound is excellent. I also run a decent set of components etc, a JL audio 12" sub all powered by 2 alpine V12's.

Cant fault the head unit...looks are a bit dull but much prefer it to those kenwood/sony plastic-chrome-lazer-shows that, at night, put Jean Michelle Jarre to shame!
