Non-refundable Deposits after 5/07/08

So i've got paper work through thats now needs me to sign away my life, it sates quiet clearly that the deposit is not refundable after the 5th July 2008!, so i had not taken the time out to visit a Nissan Dealer (Middlehurst) and if they had not imported there own display model, I'm being asked to give up money on a car that i may have never actually seen!

Now i have seen it, but of course now theres the issue of money for a car that i've never driven, and there driving events are well after this date!! Needless to say i'm going to spend the rest of the day trying to track someone down in Nissan GB (no doubt with little success) to complain!!!

I've been patient with this whole process and a defender of my order and Nissan with friends and colleges jibes and posts on here, but this really is taking the biscuit (custard creams included )

Anyone else want to rant

Send a message via ICQ to Blow Dog
Ordering a car and placing a deposit down without having seen a working model is quite normal, but it is a little harsh making it non-refundable at this point.

It is like marrying a bird before you have banged her.

I am not saying i wouldn't marry her but i would like the option not to if she wasn't as good in the sack as i imagined her to be.

Indeed mate, at least i got to drive a porker, even though i had to wait a year for her, the same for the 350 too. I don't have a problem with the non-refundable part, but i think at least seeing and driving is a must, if they moved this date to signing on the line after the first academy day, then no probs.

I guess i have my reservations too, because i love driving a manual, i know it still is, and I'm sure I'll love it, but you never know and there is a lovely low mileage R34 Nur up for grabs at the moment Another chance for us all to get on at Nissan GB and get some customer satisfaction i hope!!

I have had my dealers GTR for 1 day from yesterday(and i have it for a few days in 3 weeks again). To make it short:

Who really thinks about canceling the order cant be right in his head

This car is so perfect,i never driven a car with less things that i need to sort out.

A 997 followed me about 20km´s,just to take a look of the backside of the GTR......

Everybody has the mouth wide open when you drive past them.......

Porsches look like sweet little Matchbox cars agains a GTR,the interieur is nicer then a Porsche interieur .......... come on,its a very nice car,best value for money,maybe the best value for money you´ll ever get in a sportscar

regards
Alex

If you want to buy any new model of Ferrari. Porsche, Lambo, Aston, even BMWs you have to order well before ever having driven one. If you wait to drive one (and in some cases there are none to drive anyway), then you'll be 2 years down the order queue. As Blowdog says thats the just the way it is with pre-orders for sports/exotics - same now applies to GTRs.

I doubt i would ever want to cancel her realistically speaking (i can imagine the effect the car has on the road to other drivers, i had loads of people photographing the R34 and talking to me at services the day i bought her lol).

But the fact there are cars in production, you would at least expect to have some in the dealerships!, i can appreciate there production quotas and the cost of having cars in Show rooms and for test drives is a logistical and finical pain in the a$$.

But with all the support the UK has given Skyline and now the GTR in the past and the fact they have had to frig the quotas to meet the demands in the UK, you think its not a lot to ask to provide some cars for viewing and test driving before expecting full commitment.

I'm pretty lax with money in general but i hate being driven into these sorts of things and being a little careful is what has allowed me to be privileged enough to be able to buy one in the first place. I guess it back to that old proverb:

TOYOTA = "Rich rice field"
HONDA = "True rice field"
MAZDA = "Pine tree rice field"
and
NISSAN = "Rice field with poor customer service!"

does seem a bit off given all the issues we've faced recently - perhaps they've had a wave of cancellations so far and are looking to tie the rest of us down before any more PR disasters occur??
I've not received anything yet regarding order signing.

I've not received anything yet regards signing either, just emailed dealer to see when I might get official order form.
Do any of the 10 dealers in the UK at all have a car we could go and look at now? not to drive, just to open doors, sit in etc!!! although drive would be good.

Definitely wouldn't marry her based on your comparison Noodler. We've all seen the photos, beauty in the eye of the beholder and all that and can decide for ourself whether she's a thing of beauty or f'ugly But when every one that's experienced her so far thinks her performance is outstanding, particularly given her weight, I'd be a bit concerned whether I'd survive the wedding night
