I asked about this at the Geneva show (the car in the lounge was a US-spec) and was told the European models would not have the same.....

It's always been one of the things i liked most about old Skylines (i use to leave my lights on in the R34 when i got out for any short periods so i could just look back and see them lol), at night the lights were so defined, both sets of afterburners lol, Any one who was at the JAE a few years ago will remember the night shot of all those Skyline rears.

Now the GTR has to have its differences, but this was one of things i picked up on, was that only the outer lights are on at night. So lets hope that the European spec gets both lights at night, that or this kit will be on my order list.

Lets just hope they don't go spoiling the UK's rear with some nasty Fog light on one side to make the GTR's rear look odd!! (i know they just will though )

I discussed all this with the European Product Manager at both Geneva and Marshall's customer launch.

The operation of the rear light cluster has to be re-designed to meet EU requirements.

Although Carlos Ghosn's french car has a rear fog light addition, mounted in the bumper, below the numberplate recess (oval shape, a la some Peugeots), it was stated as unlikely that the EU cars would be given a new bumper, more likely that the rear clusters would be tweaked to provide a rear fog capability.

I did make the point that to spoil the symmetry of the rear clusters would be criminal, but they did it with the 350Z so I'm not holding my breath...

If anyone technical from Nissan is reading this, please DONT DO IT!

JohnK

p.s. No rear bumper change means large numberplate aperture. Is that good or bad?

Indeed, lets hope they don't go messing with her rear end, its why i had to go and fit a US rear lower cluster on the Zed to make it look nice an even

DON'T DO IT, or if you do (which you will ) do both sides like the MR2!!!

Maybe what they should do is to make the right rear reverse light a fog light so that there is only the one reverse light on the left and if they use a red element rather than a red lense, i think that would look so muck better?

Exactly what i did to the Z, just put a cluster in of white LED's that glow red when lit , but i'm sure Nissan would never do something so simple, there more likely to let some EU numpty dictate the rear end looking sh**

Tried to contact Phoenix's about this device, and got routed to some stroppy folks at Taka Kaira... costing is 12000 for the device, 2000 for posting to taka kaira and 1500 from them to me. Happy - I says - so please send it.

No - you have to create an account on the website first - for which you have to buy something from the site - none of which is R35 related. Only then can you use the "special order form" coz this is not listed on the site yet...

Yeesh! Customer service sure sux in most of Asia.

Hmm. How exactly do you install them?

Will there be a wire warness thing or any splicing work is needed?
