Hi Boys and Gals..
Well then, the time has come to depart with my beloved. It's come to a point where I need to be able to pay the mortgage and sadly due to the rising costs of living, this is just becoming unaffordable and I'm fed up with constantly being skint.. Anyway, here's the advert I put on pistonheads today.. Dax Rush Cosworth - Rail Blue 2003. Cosworth Conversion by Jems Race Engineering in Daventry. BD Cams, running 1 bar boost, shortened, baffled and winged sump for ground clearance (will go over speed bumps), less that 1000 miles on reconditioned T5 gearbox. All injectors cleaned and tested within last 1000 miles, set up last september on rolling road, lots of history, over £12000 worth of receipts in last 2 years (all JEMS race engineering), RWD, Live axle, Well serviced, recent oil and fluids change including diff oil and brake fluid, full weather gear - doors and hood, custom radiator (Straight, not slanted like Dax ones), custom intercooler, 5 Spoke Image split alloys, Classic Plate BVS 212S (1977), Lightweight Gel Battery, K&N Filter, T3 Garrett Turbo, all custom tanks, Dump valve (not currently fitted), Never tracked, still on original tyres. MOT September, 6 months Tax, Will be very sad to see this car go. Unfortunately, it's the car or the house.. Mind you, I did consider! No Canvassers or test pilots please!! Price on Pistonheads £12995 I've been trying to get photos up here but for some reason my html editor thingy aint working. Anyway, here's the link to the Pistonheads page.. Kit Cars : Dax Rush Cosworth If you're interested, then PM me, I'd happily take you for a spin.. Regards, Al x |

Engine built by Jems, that must be a serious engine you have in there then, i know John well as he builds my mates MkII escort race car and i know what his work is like second to none.
Good luck with the sale, if i had the cash i would rip your arm off straight up for this car. Tony

No worries chaps.. Crap it up as much as you like! Anyway, thanks for the interest.. Indeed John is sound as a pound and knows this car inside out. His workmanship IS very good and I would recommend him to anyone.
Anyway, I have a feeling people are hanging onto their pennies at the minute for the same reasons I'm selling this car for, so I may be in for a wait.. Speaking of which, I could do with a crunch myself.. ooooh |

One thing I must point out.. JEMS didn't build this engine, they just done the conversion. The car was originally a V6 and they converted it for its previous owner to the Cosworth engine currently fitted. However, I had them check the engine over, check the big ends etc and they were happy. They also got it set up and running sweet. The conversion they did is interesting, they mounted the engine further back in the car than the regular Cosworth set up in this car. This allows for better weight distribution and also allowed for a bigger rad which is fitted properly and not shoed in at an angle like the standard Daxs have. This I expect also allows for better cooling as it has more direct air flow from the front. Also this allowed for the air filter to be fitted in front of the rad and intercooler where things aren't a million degrees like in the engine bay. JEMS also fitted a recon box for me and the shortened sump as well as a load of other little things like setting up the brake balance and insulation and all sorts. Before the sump was changed, there was a sump just hanging out the bottom of the car with like 2 or 3 inches ground clearance. This is the usual with Cosworths in these cars. This made speed bumps a nightmare and I was forever paranoid about the next bump in the road. Anyway, the engine seems perfectly happy, its never missed a beat. Mind you, it doesn't have to do a lot of work pushing a 700KG Dax about at 1 bar boost.. Its still running the original tyres that were fitted when the car was first built in 2003.
I should imagine there is a lot of potential with this car if you had a few quid to throw at it. Anyway, thought I'd just make that clear.. Don't want to lead anyone up the wrong path!! Cheers Al |
