Apexi power fc

Hi guys, It may sound stupid but the apexi power fc, dose it replace the standard ecu, and can you drive the car with a brand new one fitted without it having been mapped?

Yes it replaces the factory ECU, i think it does have a kind of base map on it but i personally would get it mapped as soon as it has been installed.
