nice. have considered this mod, however, one of my favorite noises that a GTR makes (and a big part of the reason I bought one) is the way the twin BOV's chatter to each other on mild-boost gearchanges!!
sad, I know..... |

Ive redone the drawing to show in green the parts that you can remove and in red the parts that require blocking off.
![]() Heres the Front turbo port blocked off ![]() Heres the rear turbo port blocked off ![]() The part inside the f/r guard cut and blanked ![]() Position of BOV ![]() How I fed the BOV ![]() If you look at the vacuum supply to the bov, the 2 into 1 splitter was cut off the pipe inside the guard on the driver side ..This has been blanked off. Very clever observers will notice that the "feed" off the vacuum box has 2 ports, this is where I had the D-Jetro take off from. It was a miserable failure, so I used the 2 into 1 to feed bov, you can also see the new maf feeds in the position that they are supposed to be in. |

I had atmo BOVs on the car when I bought it....It was stalling at the lights and slugish between gear changes, switched all the pipes out and fitted std BOVs and fixed all probs.
...guessing your D-Jetro has no problem with it |

As one of my std BOVs has acquired a hole I now have all of the recirc pipework blocked off with barely any ill effects. I'm still running everything else standard.
It can bit a tiny bit jerky when you gently roll of the throttle at motorway speeds but that's all. |

dave be careful you dont create too much back pressure on boost when you let off.if you are running ceramics there is a small chance you can shatter the impellers..just a thought.. also if you need two recirc std valves pm me. i have vent -to-atmo on but i run map sensors too.bernie

Nice bit of welding on that front turbo port, although when i did that to mine, i suffered from alot of turbo shuffle, so i connected both turbo ports back together and it was much better.
Are you getting turbo shuffle with them blocked off ? |

I have never had turbo shuffle on my car / std / R581's /2530's turbo's.
Chris, no problem with d-jetro. Yoda says the only difference is the standard bovs dont seal at idle ... ? He is adamant you can remove it all even with pcf/afm type. ps please excuse the steel parts not being painted ....lol They will get done some time , but Im spending all my time on the other one right now. |

Interesting... I've gone for VTA BOV's myself, and I'm experiencing what some refer to as 'turbo shuffle' or 'swirwel effect'. Someone suggested using a balance tube between the ports on the inlet tubes. Any thoughts?
Another thing I'm curious about when blocking the ports completely, what do you do with the vacuum line going into the standard 3-way balance tube? The other part of that vacuum line, according to the vacuum diagrammes I've seen, runs to the boost solenoid? |

If the 3 way thing is the "twin turbo" pipe, I tig'd a fitting on there ,dont run any factory boost stuff.
Alecci are you running afm's ? Chris, I dont know,If its stalling you can adjust all that with the pfc. Yoda says the factory setup doesnt seal at idle, which is why you need to reset all the idle control when you take it off , was it running pcf with recirc off ? |

GT-R Glenn, I'm running AFM's for now but have ordered a D-Jetro and waiting for it to arrive.
The 3-way tube is the one to the far right on the 3rd picture from the top in the first post, or in the centre of the first pic on the #5 post on this thread. Towards the port of the rear turbo on this 3-way tube (or actually on an air hose connected to it) is a nipple which connects to one of the two vacuum lines coming 'round the back side of the engine (the other one leading from the wastegates to the solenoid via the intake plenum). |
