Boost on and off

Guys,

A mate of mine is having a problem with his R33 GTR, he popped round in it tonight and took me along the road and it's as if the boost is coming and going all the time seems worse under load. The boost builds then just drops off then builds again. He's tried my ECU in his car and checked the AFM's he's even fitted an after market boost controller and it's still the same.

Any ideas what it might be?

Cheers

Del

Could be weak springs in the actuators or DV's not holding the pressure? Thats what i'd look at first mate.

yes i agree it's a leak somewhere rather than the ecu or airflow meters etc

check the turbo actuators and the dump valves and also check the intercooler hoses ...are tight

but it does sound like it could be the wastegates and they are opening prematurely how much preload do you have on them ?

if it's the dv opening you would hear them dumping the air
