Paul, here are many PFC's up for sale. Look at the for sale section.
Personally I think thats the easiest way to go.

I got my power fc for under £400 then there'll be mapping estimate another £400,
£800 all in is not bad for a stand alone and I would personally go that route as it'll will always be safer, not saying piggyback are useless but I would think a lot less realiable and worse for your engine when your only saving £3-400 pounds.
I'd say peace of mind is worth the little extra and also gives you more options for future mods where-as you would prob need a new piggyback altogether if you were to add more mods just my 2p's worth

Input appreciated. Power fc seems to be the popular choice on the skyline. Who would be a good choice of tuner in northern england?

For what its worth the standard R32/33 ECU only has 8x8 map points compared to the 16x16 of a PFC and more still for a FCON Pro - found this out from Perfect Touch when I called to discuss remap options

I was planning to just get the standard ecu remapped once the larger mafs and injectors are fitted but it seems that sticking with the original computer means compromising areas of the map due to the lack of map points

Don't forget map size isn't the be all and end all of an ECU.

Naturally the standard R32 ECU is a product of the 1980s when technology hampered map sizes and so on, but good interpolation algorithms between cells and sophisticated equations can definitely produce adequate results.

For interesting reading, MegaSquirt has some fascinating material on the subject.

fyi the Power FC is 20x20. FCon is 32x32....stock is 8x8?? that sure makes mapping easy I wonder what the map on the Z-Tune ECU looks like - if that's also 8x8.

higher resolution doesn't necessarily mean better. My car uses about 30% of the map - high-load/low RPM and high RPM/low-load never sees use.

And you can have the best ECU on the planet...and still torch your pistons with shitty mapping.

If you re-house the AFM in a larger diameter tubing, this can be circumvented, quite commonly done

If you re-house the AFM in a larger diameter tubing you will have a different amount of airflow flowing through it at a given voltage than before modifying and will need a standalone ECU to program the new MAF voltage curve.

Guys I have RB26 T04Z and I will use 800cc sard injectors, z32 mafs and stock R32 GTR ecu!
Check my signature.

Blitz skyline R34 street project with 900hp was with stock ecu with two z32 mafs.

Nomura's Blitz R34 4door use stock ecu!!
SpecBox

Blitz Project R348

Blitz GTRBLITZ know how to explore the potential in the GTR, and have proved it with their latest monster, the R34 Project 348, where they took a road legal modified GTR up to 215 mph on a German Autobahn using parts straight from their catalogue. On the day the car ran, it used 2.3 bar boost (34PSi) and ran 890 BHP...
The 890 BHP engine uses a single KKK turbo charger, 6 x 1000cc injectors, uprated intercooler, induction kit, Nur Spec 'R' exhaust, DSBC boost control, Multi Speed Turbo Timer, Uprated pistons, High performance camshafts, uprated suspension, Blitz Aero bodykit, oil cooler, uprated clutch, Blitz Technospeed Z1 18 inch rims, Brembo 6 pot brakes, and Access ECU upgrade.

Blitz Skyline RB26DETTAll these parts are made by Blitz or made exclusively for Blitz and are available for purchase.

The R34 uses the latest colour Technospeed Z1 rim from Blitz. This unique design of split rim is in a metallic grey/silver colour, and has fine details such as individual gold studs, and a smart Blitz logo centre in matching gold.
The R348 yielded 343KPH which is not enough to break the world record set by the Veilside R34 in Rotorua (New Zealand), but it's still an incredible speed, and it is highly likely that Blitz will continue to strive to beat this awesome record.

Why you spent money for aftermarket ECUs?!?!?!?
If you have a tuner who can map your stock ecu don't spent money for nothing!

GTR ECU Limitation is the limit of z32 mafs... more than 1000hp!!
