cometic,acl, headgasket issues??

looking at both of these gaskets toward number six there is a rivet on the multi layer gaskets that holds the layers together it seems to me that the rivet by No 6 hits the surface of the head on both ACL and Cometic gaskets is this normal???, I see it as a gasket failure waiting to happen.

Any opinions

Cheers

There was a thead on here about the cometic gaskets sealing less the the stock items. It was done on a test by a guy in Japan. It didn't bring up your rivit problem.

Do a search.

I have an old cometic gasket here i can check if you want?

ok xs engineering ... thanks again Madden been looking on here from my last post.
They cover the compression seal or cylinder ring and slate another brand (not good business.. but any way) my problem (i think )is the rivet locations on both the above gaskets..i may just go standard Nissan gasket and oring the block.

it will touch on the head, but there isn't anything for it to touch on the block, it isn't compressed between the 2

lay it on a block you'll see what i mean

Andy W i have checked that on the block .. the interesting thing is that when all bolted down the rivet makes an indent in the head surface suggesting that there is some compression on the rivet or am i just being OTT on this one.

Take the rivet out if it really bugs you, it's only their to stop the things separating in transit.
