I've always used Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s - recommended to me by Callum Lockie and always been a pretty reasonable compromise - cheap and ok grip and ok-ish on track both wet and dry (but I don't hoon).
I've always used Micheldever tyres (01962-774-437), either gone down there and had them fitted or got them to deliver to my local fitter - prices have always been rock-bottom. http://www.micheldever.co.uk/ Fox --- Not in league with Micheldever, own shares etc. etc. |

Last car was on Bridgestone SO2/3 which were excellent once warmed up. Had Pirelli P-Zero on the new car until blowout two weeks ago but had not been that impressed with them. Now have fitted G/Y Eagle F1's as the Bridgestones not available in my sizes in this country and G/Y's are highly recommended on Supra forum. Prooving good at the momment but have not tested thoroughly enough yet.

I've just got my GTR R33 V Spec. Its Got some Potenza RE01's on it.
I'd like to go for 285/35 R18's. Would that work ? My car has Nismo suspension as well. Am considering Toyo T1R's, Falkens 451's or F1's. I won;t be doing many miles approx 3k per year. Not too worried about wear just good grip and handling in dry and wet What do you reckon ? Thanks |

Bridgestones all the way ...going back in time to my scooby days, I had some really worn bridgestones, thought it was time to replace .. so being a bit tight fitted a brand new set of Yokohamas ... well suffice to say they gave alot less grip than my knackered bridgestones .. to the point that I did a nice big 720 spin whilst accelerating and went looking for the nearest hedge ...
luckily only got a few scratches and a b*ggered tow hook .. I promptly ditched the yokohamas and bought S02's ..

Hi All,
Just to confirm that Toyo Proxes are a good tyre but do wear out ver quickly. I have only had them on for 7 months and all 4 have worn off, I had tracking done and it seems that I need a Camber Kit. Could someone advise where I can get one? What does the kit consist off? Apoligise if this is in the wrong section. Regards, Rich |

You can get cheap camber kits from a company in Aus called Whiteline. Put a set on the rear of my car and sorted the camber problem (normally due to lowering the car). The one I got consisted of an eccentric bush giving the correct camber adjustment. I believe Abbey are now stocking these (since seeing mine) and would recommend getting them to set-up the car geometry as mine was a different car afterwards.
