I have been running Toyo Proxes RA1 track tires on all my cars for the past year or so, I live in the Sonoran Desert so keeping the tire temp up is no problem! summer pavement temp is nuts! the pavement gets hot enough to cause second degree burns within 35 seconds, and yes the news media really does fry eggs on the pavement every damn year to show how hot it gets.

Correct me if I'm wrong I guess, but as far as I know, the RE55S is widely considered to be one of the best (if not the best) semi slick tires on the market. Same goes for the RE01R for street use. Personally, I like Bridgestone cause they still perform well after being worn down a bit. You still know exactly what to expect form the tire. Can't say the same for Yokohamas. |

In Japan I seem to have Yokohamas on most of the time.
In the UK (but not on a Skyline) it's Dunlop 9000s for some reason. Maybe it's the deal my tyre/tireplace offer me...??? The Pirelli Rossos I had on till last week were definitely good, though. |

I use Toyo Proxes RA1 as well. Great dry road capabilities when it comes to grip, unparalleled driving experience. Their price tag is OK when compared to Michelins. btw, mytyres.co.uk has a promotion running, go to Tyres at mytyres.co.uk: car tyres, 4x4 tyres and van tyres at low prices and use code AMAK2907 and you will get 3% off

i work for tyre company i have hankook sportk104 on the front and eagle revspec 2 on the rear, unless you buy track tyres most tyres are the same unless you buy budget ?.as i work within the tyre trade i have tried them all at some point.value for money has to be hankook good grip for road tyre ,and do the mileage aswell, however kumho have just brought out some road legal track tyres ku15 i think test them later in week ,only £67 fitted for 255/45/17 y. £60 235/40/17y. dont use marshall, linglong, nankang, fullrun, sunny, stunners,: )

i've just killed a set of falken 452's in 1500 miles,
but i'm going for the same again based on their lovely progression from grip to sliding, with not a great deal of outright grip but fantastically controllable on/over the limit behaviour and they're cheap... how progressive are the kumhos? they sound like they might be worth a try (in a couple of weeks when the latest 452's have been eaten)

i tend to get two months wear out of the toyo t1s's on mr2, so i'm just resigned to heavy usage
but i'd be vexed if i was paying £150 plus/corner every two months, and i do like the progressiveness of the falkens, so i'll stick with the cheapies for the time
