is this the one which is called 'preceda' or something for the asian market?

if that's the one then it's really good coz my cousin was one of the testing team in sepang and he was impressed.

Now on my third set of Toyo Proxies, although this time I have selected a slightly lower profile.
According to the advertising blurb which I read at the time, tests conducted in Germany indicated that the Proxies held the best grip under cornering/braking etc both in the dry and wet conditions. They were compared with all the other leading brands, including Continental, Pirelli, Bridgestone.

They do feel good...very reasurring, always give the right feedback and no tracking (tested at 150 mph following Pegleg!) I also know from the cars historical records that the honourable Mr. Reeves used them....and some of us know his reputation as a demon on the track.
So, I figure they're good enough....

Bridgestone Blizzak LMs!!!! narrow, nobbly, and only Q rated, but ill beat you all up a snowy hill!!!

they would have been replaced, but they were brand new (had the blue lines round the tread!)on the car, and it sickens me to bin 'perfectly good' tyres!!!

Saw some interesting Dunlops on Mario's R33 at exvitermini.com

semi-slicks,very pro-looking

painful in the wet,but ultimate track day choice,for sure!

..oh,and Yokos,of course.Saw them monster-size on a Cobra returning from Nurburgring 24h!

In Japan, I used to use only BS 540S.
But in the UK, I always use Falken's!

I had them put on my fronts in the middle of march and now, about 2,000 miles and one track day (but only straight sprints plus a bit of fun when it rained heavily) later they are totally bald. Would love to carry on with SO3s but at that rate of wear it just isn't going to happen. Has anyone else suffered the same hopeless longevity or did i just get unlucky? My rears are the older bridgestones which, whilst more prone to pulling you all over the place do, at least, last a while

Are they bald across the whole of the tyre or just the shoulders? How long did the last set last for?

Hi Peter - they are bald right across: the shoulders have a lot of wear primarily due to skidding (once) in the wet at elvington, but the baldness is right across the tyre. The bridgestones that were on when i bought it lasted 8,000 miles by me and whatever the previous owner had clocked up. I've regularly checked the pressure, so it has been nothing like that causing the loss of tread.

Hmmm, very strange. I've had a set of SO3s on for 8 months now, done a few track days and 5k miles and there's quite a bit left on them....

My S02's have been on for about 4,000k now and have worn quite well apart from the front tyres on the outer shoulders .

.I will swap the left to right front tyres after Bedford to maybe get a little more mileage out the fronts .

Tyre wear on these softer compounds will depend much more upon ones driving style . Peter drives very smoothly (and slower than most of us :P) so I would expect his tyres to last longer . It sounds to me Sammy that you must be a liitle rougher on your tyres ,like me ! Do you suffer alot from understeer ?

hi paul - i didn't think that my driving style was especially hard and understeer has only been a problem on the one trackday, a moment or two before pretty major oversteer.. i suppose that what has surprised me is how quickly they have worn compared to the old Bridgstones on the back. If it was that track/drag day that alone obliterated my fronts, i'm curious as to why the rears survived it so well. I'll tap Mark's brain on saturday down at the Japs meeting,but will have to get my skates on soon after that, so any strong recommendations from 34 owners running on the stock wheels would be very welcome

It's my fronts that have been worn down but my rears are still in very good condition . Guess not too much oversteer action . Gonna have to see what I can do about that at Bedford .

Why don't you try Falkens ? Shin and a couple of others have them on their cars and speak highly of them . The price makes them more attractive .
