In the past I used Bridgestone Potenza Dagg's. They had plenty of grip in the dry, were terrible in the wet, but they lasted a long, long time. When they finally wore out, I went for a set of Yokohama S306's. They were much less gripy in the dry and wet, they tramlined like mad
- but they were cheap. My new car has Yokohama AVID tyres, standard sizes for the R34 GT series. I don't know how long they've been on the car, so I can't comment about wear. They do grip pretty well (though not as good as the bridgestones) but the big plus is there is virtually no tramlining (Yeah! I don't have to grip the steering wheel like a mad man everytime I drive the car! )Dave ![]() |

I've just replaced 2 Avons (!) with FK451s and they sooo much better. Loads more grip, less of that awfull throbbing noise and practically no tramlining.
Two more this month I think. Perhaps £75/corner (16's) is a bit steep but it was very local and you've got to spend it on something.. |

Just put a pair of 225/45/17 FEDRAL 595's on the back of my GTS, only tyre i could afford after wearing out my Pilot SX's, not the worlds best tyre, but in the dry works better than i had expected! nice little bit of drift exiting roundabouts at 50...
and at £80 each fitted not a wallet killer! |

Help !!!
A mate of mine sat in the car a few weeks ago and told me there was a knocking noise nearside rear - turns out the shock had gone.
He got on the car today and pointed out one of my tyres is bald in the middle - nearside rear - surprise surprise ! Anyway, long and the short is I need 4 falken 245/45/17 ASAP because on closer inspection they are all a little illegal. Anyone know where to get Falkens at a reasonable rate in the Aylesbury / Oxford area ? Waqas / Stu Mc - any ideas ? (Last time I let my mate near the car every time he gets in it it costs me a fortune !!!) Cheers Mozz ![]() |

Falkens
Hi Mozz,
I got 4 fitted for an all in price of £458 from Pitstop in Bedford. You could try Toyo Proxes T1-S they have them on www.mytyres.net for £107.90 ea. Otherwise just phone around locally and play one off against another for the best price. Doesn't matther what you pay, someone will know someone who could have got them cheaper Good hunting Vincenzo |

Had 2 get another 2 for the back of my GTS a couple days ago, also ordered from www.mytyres.co.uk £123.60 for Bridgstone S03's 255/40/17, quite good I thought, I reckon they might wear fairly quickly for me as im surronded by a maze of roundabouts but we will see, car is only used for weekends now tho
