Matt..
Only for weekends?? You gotta drive it everyday mate to enjoy it I have been driving my skyline for 2 weeks now non stop and its great to drive it everywhere. I used to use the missus's car for going down the shops and for short journeys but now its sold and its skyline everywhere! Thing is I Have been on the road a few times when 'other' cars have been around and felt gutted i didn't have my skyline to p**s on there parade The other day I finally met one of the cars i had been meaning to show my rear end, on a local quarter and it couldn't of been better! Those huge Tarox 6 pots really helped me outbrake the Impreza Sti Prodrive to take the lead! Let me know how those tyres do as I would like a set later on this year. Cheers swishboy |

yeah I do miss taking it in to work, especially if I happen to drive by a nice bird and im not inthe Skyline, or when some idiot decides to undertake or cut me up. Saving me a load on petrol though and im tryig to keep the mileage down a bit.
I got the wheels back from being refurbished yesterday and they look great, im still waiitng for the SO3's to turn up, ive got a feeling there not gonna be here for the east bank holiday which is a pain, as soon as I get them on though ill let ya know Mat |

Tyre discounts
I've received confirmation of a propopsed tyre discount for the GTR Owners Club. It will take me a few days to check the competition in detail and to agree with the supplier the full details of how we manage the offer.
On investigation it would appear they are cheaper than most of the on-line prices I can find so far. Some websites I have given up with completely as I have to enter all my car details, personal details and so forth, just to et a price. Others have reacted by saying I need to ring up to get a quote When compared to some of the obvious on-line sources it is worthwhile to mention the deal we are working on is different to just getting the rubber delivered. The supplier will fit the tyres at your location or at their outlets. I have yet to discuss whether there will be additional charges for home-fitting. More details will be posted once I have completed a review of whether it is a worthwhile offer. John |

Toyo Proxes T1-R
Just put 4 of the new Toyo Proxes T1-R's (replacement for the T1-S), on (275/35/18). Seem excellent in the 'duck' weather we are having. Tramlining not too evident either.

I had Toyo Proxes on my 200SX and when they wore out I went for the Goodyear F1's as they were so highly rated by others. All I can say is that they just don't have as much grip in the wet..........
So when the Skyline came along, off came the Bridgestone and on went the Toyo's, which transformed the wet weather grip. ![]()

Ive now got Falken FK451's on the front, and about to get a pair for the rear... lovely tyre, good grip, and cheap! - £70 for 235x45x17 from mytyres.co.uk and my local tyre place fits and balances for about £10 the pair

Tyre replacement
When I got the car it had 2 Michalin Virage tyres from Japan on the rear and 2 Continental something or others on the front. The car was a nightmare in the wet and to some extent very twitchy in the dry.
While the Michalins are used in the Jap touring car circuit I would strongly recomend anyone still running them to BIN them asap. I was told these tyres were the best thing going and so to aid traction that my GTS didnt seem to have I was going to change to a GTR. Due to financial considerations (e.g. no toy money left ) I opted to change tyres not change car.I put Toyo Proxes T1 s on all 4 corners. What a difference Dry weather twitchynes is gone and in the wet it behaves like it did in the dry with my old tyres on!!! Anyway Toyo Proxes get my vote now. What a diference. Alas now I would appear to have sheered my 2 outer exhaust manifold bolds and blown the gasket to bits I wonder if thats due to driving a bit harder now Harllequin
