Sounds cheap

But REALLY disagree with you on the piston squirters. In my opinioin they are VERY important and certainly not a waste of oil. Especially at big bhp, they are vital.

At big revs the oil pump is moving a lot of oil though the motor. The higher the revs, the more oil.

You suck all the oil out of the pan, run dry and spin a bearing.

What I have seen anyway.

I would be interested to look into a motor spinning big revs and spraying oil at the underside of the piston.

I noticed Cadiliac is even putting oil squirters in their supercharged Northstar motor. They say its worth torque and horsepower due to their ability to run more advance.

I suppose lack of oil could be an issue if running mega rev's like Mario (11,000???) But upto 9500 or so i think with adequate mods to the oiling system and an increased capacity sump it isn't a problem.

Mind you this is an "ulitmate engine" thread so you probably will all want to be running 12,000rpm

An "ultimate" engine will be dry sumped, anyway. The best ultimate engines are the ones you build for someone else, spending their money and making a profit on it

This is One I bid on last week. I was saved from buying it by the vehicle inspector because of engine noise. They now know to buy in any condition if the car of the right spec comes up. Sad story, very sad if you read Japanese.

Paul,

That looks like it was quite a car, what auction was it sold at?

Thanks

Hugh

Paul,

I can look back at cars sold at HAA Kopbe and it doesn't look like it was there, the auction sheet is also slightly different at HAA to the one you posted.

I can't look back at the USS auctions.

There is no power steereing and no electric windows, it looks like it was a drag oinly car.

How much did it sell for?

Hugh it was through these people http://www.auctions.bonsaicars.com/ if you say it was the car I bid on they should have a record of it. It had plastic windows like a drag car but twin fuel tanks. Start price was 250000 yen.Only went through last week. I would have brought it repaired the engine over the winter I bid £8500 had to be worth that ? would have used it for the track only. I dont know how much it when for , you have to go in with a XX bid or the vehicle inspectors will not bid on a faulty car.
