I fitted one of these today.

It's an old metro anti-run-on valve. Basically, its a solenoid that opens to let air in when the ignition is turned off.

We've wired it into the AEM to work as the idle speed control valve. We also fiddled around and wired the power steering pressure switch into the A/C control switch, so now, when steering pressure is applied, the revs rise a little. This soleniod isn't the perfect solution for the idle speed, but its fairly good. The AEM requires a stepper motor one ideally.

Yes, the AEM does control the STD nissan AAC valve. However, I gave mine to Jim27 so I had to use something else. I've binned all the nissan idle speed gibbing. The Metro one is an easy fit, where as the nissan one has a stupid flange fitting on one end and it just takes up far too much room..

It didn't quite clear the bonnet, hence the brutal mod.

The turbo was about 3mm higher up than the bottom of the bonnet reinforcing bits.

Now it clears nicely.

I would imagine that it's large enough not to be restrictive.

what power figure are you expecting from this? at what boost & what fuel

I don't know what power or torque figs to expect. I'll run 1.2 bar at first and see how it goes. I'd like to see 500hp and 500 ft/lbs of torque. That will be on 95ron cheap fuel.

It seems I've not put a bush in the end of the crank, which is the cause or my clutch issue. O'joy. A nice little job coming up real soon. I've ordered a Nismo clutch to replace the HKS item. It's to make the car drivable for a lady, namely my wife. Shes fairly insistant she should be able to drive it too.

My clutch was held up in customs so it didn't arrive today. Gangsters...

Hopefully, the clutch will be fitted next weekend and the running in period will be over soon so we can start applying some boost and having a real play with the mapping.

I'e also bought a new exhaust, so the heighbours wont be so pi$$ed off everytime I fire it up. Bless them..

Please don't be driving it without the spiggot bush.

The lack of has a nasty habit of very quickly stuffing the input shaft bearing.

A mate did the same with his rb30det conversion, his box now constantly vibrates and makes huge noises, all though it has hung in there for quite some time.

Awesome build up, very keen to see the reasults.
272 or 280duration cams work very nice with the RB30's.
