SLRs can't outrun a tuned Skyline - I know, because one tried that on me, and he couldn't pass. Damned quick though.
I have decided, after driving a Dodge Viper yesterday, that I'm not a supercar kinda guy. I like small spaces, but I get claustrophobia in these cars. The F355 is ok as is the F430, but the SLR is surprisingly cramped, the Viper is ridiculously small, or maybe it's the small cabin in relation to the giant hood bulge. Every Lamborghini I've sat in or driven, too damned small. Like driving a tank with slits for windows. I enjoy the airy feel of a Skyline interior. I like how I can stuff tons of cargo into an R32 boot. I think the only other car that really measures up is the CLK-DTM. With a dry carbon shelf replacing the rear seat, the car has an enormous cargo capacity. Probably not what most DTM buyers think of, but as a musician who has spent too many years cramming guitars and amps into small cars - well, if I were a bigshot studio musician in LA, I'd definitely have a DTM. I can bring a ton of guitars and a couple amps, and cruise along in LA traffic with the luxury of an automatic. |

and wouldn't you love to be the owner of the 612 Scaglietti that's sitting in the shop with a trashed transmission? 968km on the odometer. Nine hundred sixty eight km!!! Grey market car, repair is at owner's expense. Ouch.

I've seen enough broken semi-autos to NEVER want one in my car. I don't care if they blip the throttle for you and shift in 60 milliseconds. So long as I have feet and hands, I know I'll be treating the clutch and drivetrain better than any computer can.
And what good is a 60ms shift, if the car won't shift at all????? |

From what I've been told it knocks the socks of the LP640 he traded in.
Unfortunately, I won't get to find out in person til I get home ![]()

All this talk about the mines car...it is an amazing piece of kit but was beaten in its street class afew months ago by ATTKD's R34 which had 10BHP less and weighed 80kg more.
The cars used the same size engines, had the same spec turbos, the only thing the ATTKD car had that was radically different was HKS VCAM system. So if you are going to do the enzo beating, my money would be on the mines car BUT fitted with the VCAM system and slightly larger VNT equipped turbos |
