Sean,
I'm trying to get your point; Is having a 2002 Nur that is specced close to a Z-Tune with 650+Bhp a negative thing?
Personally I don't feel it 'diminishes' the car in anyway, I can appreciate a purist may be offended by such 'sacrilege' but if that's the case there are plenty of unmodified examples about (in Japan anyway

- Maybe

) but it's not what this car is about. I must say I found the comment odd coming from you given that you also owned an extremely nicely modified R34, one of the nicest around.
Hodgie,
I'm glad you've put it to good use, it's a cracking circuit engine now that it's lost its 'Nurness' with a big F-Off Trust baffled sump, HKS cams/Metal gasket, Tomei Pulleys, APEXi ECU, Nismo Injectors, AFM's, increased boost!!
As someone once said to me, why buy the Pinnacle of Skyline ownership when it'll get destroyed by any tuned Skyline - which probably accounts for about 90% of them. To buy a 'Nur' and leave it at 280bhp would be crazy. Even by untapping the potential as Hodgies engine above and addressing its weaknesses is removing it from its original state and would involve removing the engine from the car, so why not go the whole hog and give it some teeth!
It's probably for this reason that none of the original UK Nurs have remained stock!
With regards to the Ferrari comment, I was actually offered a straight swap with a Ferrari 360 Modena when I was selling, the chap also commented that it might be easier to sell. Needless to say the Nur went on its first viewing and the Ferrari was lingering for months later!
Anyway, each to their own.
Nito
