This brings back some good memories!
Nice drifting in that video of you Andy. Every time I followed you earlier in the day I hit dense fog, for some reason...
Allen (Who filmed this clip from his AE86) and I arrived late Saturday night. Paid to get in to find every available parking spot rammed with drift cars, tools, etc. Did a couple of laps of the North circuit whilst fully laiden with tyres, tools, etc. then called it a night. Left Allen's '86 in the car park and headed to our hotel for the night. Was 3am by the time we checked in!
By 8am we were out again.
That circuit was awesome.. Loved it! Shame Allen didn't get a chance to film it before they reduced it to half size... All those high speed corners and clutch kicking fried my clutch though!

Then trying to enter the long corner after the pit straight hard in 3rd one time too many had me in the sand. Later I found sand in the bead of the tyre...and low pressure. So that's why the steering was pulling to the left afterwards, doh!
Next time, I'll go with a spare set of wheels, rather than fitting tyres at the circuit. I thought I'd be safe with there being a machine to fit with, but hadn't counted on there being a queue of people unable to use the machine in front of me, taking up to 45 minutes to change 4 bloomin' tyres! So I lost some of the afternoon... Just as well though, I don't know what I'd have done to get home with no clutch at all!
Lots of smashed up cars, which was sad. Saw one Skyline HCR32 that had been spun into the pit wall. There was no boot floor left to speak of!

And the JZA70 Supra Aerotop that had been rolled on the Toue course!
Bring on the next drift Matsuri. Next time we'll go up Friday afternoon, get a perfect pit position with barbeque, etc. and do it all weekend long!
