amuse S2000 VS amuse 350Z what would you choose?
When looking at the prices of early S2000s and early 350Z Roadsters, you see one bargain after another . . . not really a fan of both cars for the standard looks, but the amuse versions just look so hot!! I allways loved Targa or open cars, something Skylines (maybe thankfully) never had.
Anyway around the open 350Z is a fat cow and the S2000 has an underpowered engine . . . 9000rpms VS V6 torque. Ok why buying the open 350Z when the coupe is better, . . . well the V6 soundtrack is just awsome when the Top is folded , same for the 9000rpm open air orgasme . . . . I think I would buy the 350Z with the amuse kit , just looks incredible, the 350Z is a more stable car on the roads and doesn`t scare the shit out of you when a bit rain pisses down. Thought the amuse S2000 looks just like a raptor and with some footwork the car will go faster round corners, then the open 350Z can ever go. Difficult choice but two brilliantly styled cars by amuse. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by gtrlux; 22nd February 2008 at 08:25 AM. |

350Z is for Americans or for people who cant drive but like to willy wave.
S2000 for the people who appreciate late braking and power oversteer as a standard driving technique ![]() Oops I gone and upset 50% of the forum members on here now. |

Never driven an S2000, but have followed one in the Z - he couldn't get away (and it was twisty country backroads). I had to back off because he kept driving more and more dangerously and after he clipped a curb and ended up in the face of oncoming traffic I decided that he was taking things a bit too seriously! The 350 is big and fairly heavy, and very difficult to drive smoothly. It's also not benign - like any powerful rwd it'll bite you if you're not on your toes. I'd still have it over an S2000. If I wanted a light "driver's" car, I'd have a 7 derivative. |

Erm have you driven a 350z? They are really great to drive, lovely oversteer wagons, with lots of effortless grunt! I love both cars tbh. I dont like the AMUSE versions that much, but definetely prefer the S2000 in terms of looks. The rear bumper of the 350 amuse is horrible imo.

Voted S2000
![]() Amuse do have some nice bits for it. As does J's Racing etc... I have had 2 x S2000's. They are bloody great and the claimed lack of power doesn't matter a jot on a race track. You would be amazed what they will keep up with. More importantly, i've owned lots of scoobs and an Evo 8, and this is far more exciting. I think the Amuse one has several hundred bhp though! The problem lies in day to day driving, where it can take a lot of effort to get it on the move. I may supercharge this one if I decide against a 34 GTR. Over 300 bhp and things get interesting ![]() I put a few tweaks on mine ![]() ![]() ![]() Never really been a fan of the Z for some reason. |

Guys, I am talking about the 350Z Roadster not the coupe. The coupe would probably spank, over certain speeds, the S2000 on a track, but even on lower speedy curvy roads, the Z could keep up.
The Roadster is a different car, it`s about 100kg heavier then the coupe, suspension on early versions is soft (for he US). ex . . . . I wouldn`t personally drive them on a track, as japanese street reality looks like 99% of the time I would anyway drive in speed limits (max 60kph), sounds boring but that`s plain reality, where I live you loose your driving liscence quicker then you can hit the accel pedal. . . .fookers. I think in heavy rain the 350Z (if driven with reason) is more confident then the S2000, which seems to take more out of your constant attention, even at low speeds through rain. Had driven the S2000 many times before, even a Spoon version in japan with open throttle body ex . . . and they are truly the F1s for the middle class citizen . . . I love the 350Z rear actually, it`s not really part of the amuse creation, as it`s about the same piece of rear kit as on the Nismo ver. Fairlady Z or the Nismo 380RS. Have someboody owned a Roadster 350Z??? Last edited by gtrlux; 22nd February 2008 at 11:49 PM. |

S2000 FTW.
I've driven both. The Z is comfier, smoother and more composed on the road. The S2k is more focused and rewards committed driving much much more than the Z. Plus the S2000 actually has a real boot - something that Nissan forgot to build into the Z. |

Having driven both a s2000 and 350z at full tilt I can say I like the s2000's size and the 350z's engine. My next car will probably be an s2000 though. I voted for the stook by the way
