I just regassed my wife's Honda **** at the weekend using a kit from Halfrauds. £25 for the gauge and hose and £15 for a can of R134a with oil, cleaner and leak seal premixed. Icy cold again now and holding pressure.
Found this kit on ebay for R12 to R134a conversion - no idea if it has the right connector for a 32 though. CAR AIR CON EAZY CONVERTER FROM R12 to R134a AC2135B on eBay, also, Air Conditioning Tools, Garage Equipment Tools, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 30-May-08 13:33:17 BST) |

Kwik fit do a check,clean and re-gas for £44.95
I have just been down there and they tested for leaks twice and both times it came up with a leak. They did say the machine had been playing up and called for an engineer to come and service it.So when the machine is serviced I will be going back to try again. You only pay if they re-gas so if you do have a leak it wont cost but you then have to go and find the leak elsewhere. Some of you may not be to keen on kwik fit but they do pretty much what an aircon specialist does but for half the cost..

Right had my 33 done , guy came to my house , removed the gas in the system , vacuumed the system and checked for leaks and refilled it again cost £59 Well reccomended Cool Cars tel 07816 917672 Guy is based in Basingstoke Asked him about the 32 and he said no probelm , although you cant buy the gas you can buy an equivilant which he stocks He did add the diy kits are a waste of time (but then he would say that) but its true that they dont remove the old gas , moisture and oil and you have no idea of how much you are putting in pressure is not a reliable indicator Last edited by Richf : 13th May 2008 at 03:40 PM. |

Well the source I'm getting the R12 from reckons 3-4 300gm cans will do it, and not exceed 40ish PSI
If you're putting in the same refrigerant I don't think you need to empty the system first Any ideas how you actually remove the gas though just in case? ![]() |

You empty the system to
A, Check if there is any gas left indicating leaks or neglect B, so you can remove all the moisture and old oil C, So you start with an empty system so you know exactly how much gas to add D, So you can put the system under vacuum to check for leaks Pressure bears no relation to the weight of the gas and without removing the gas from the car you have no idea of how much is in there before you start The guy put in 700grammes of coolant in my car thats from empty, he said most cars use 600-700grammes Too much or too little refrigerant and you could knacker the compressor. You pays your money and takes your chance |

Took my R32GTR to a place in West Sussex (EMS in Littlehampton) and they could do it fine using a replacement gas. They vacuumed it all out but unfortunately when they went to refill there was an obvious leak in the front of the condenser so I need to try and get a new one.
I'm thinking that Nissan probably want an arm and a leg for one and I don't fancy trying a secondhand one as it may be just as farked as the current one. Does anyone know a supplier for them at all ? I've been told I may be able to get a pattern one.
