Aircon - regass/ full service

Anyone know of a company around the surrey/hampshire area that can perform these.

Back information

I've read a few threads already out the R32 and R33's having an older style air con units installed in them and becuase of this it is quite difficult to find a place to services these.

Anyway - anyone got any ideas?

Just popped down to local service centre.

Two issues

1. R12 is prohibited - Which I believed has been replaced by R134a gas - This has been covered off on other threads as well so you can regas

2. The service pipe / Bleed value has the thread on the inside rather than the outside and I believe UK service pipe require the thread to be on the out side of that value.

So I'm stuck at point 2 at the moment.

Ahh really, spoke to Scott about a year ago and he said no, maybe thats changed now. I'll give him a call

In the mean time I've located some R12 to R134a conversation kits which allow the appropriate service pipe to connect

I believe the old gar required you run the system up every month to lube the seals, if no thtey can go.

So if your seals have gone, you could have all of your brand new gas pi55 out into the atmos.

So its more than likely the seals may have gone. Need to check that has happened in anycase. This is why maybe full service on the AC would be in order. Most guys can detect leaks and replace seal(s) I believe.

But finding someone who can do it and also have the adapter for the R12 to R134a is the important part I would say.

I had mine done last night by a local mobile guy. Doubt he'll go as far as Surrey tho. Cost was £75 all in for check, replace 2 seals and re gas with R134a. Is nice and cool now, but still not as good imo as new cars.

So has anyone had an R32 re-charged recently?

I only ask as the are older and I was thinking of ripping all my AC gubbins out when the engine comes out next week.

Interesting to see if it can be brought back to life.

There is a gas that can be used in the older systems. I've forgotten what it's called though.
