Anyone esle ordered from Middlehurst Nissan?

I paid my £3.5k deposit last Saturday and dealt with Andy M at Middlehursts in St Helens.

As of today I have received no confirmation that any order has been placed, either from Middlehursts or Nissan UK.

I have rung 3 times this week to be told that Andy is "with a customer" and have left a message to return my call each time. There have been no returned calls.....

So my question is this. Has anyone else who has ordered from Middlehursts received any form of confirmation, from anybody??!
As it stands I have no idea whether my order has even been placed.

Thanks for any responses.

I wouldn't fret, Andy's terrible at returning calls
Have you tried getting in touch with another salesman there?

The younger chap I spoke to on Thursday (my last call) said I'd be better speaking to Andy or Chris (also "with customer") as they were dealing with all GTR queries.

Considering Andy didnt know that the UK price had gone up on the GTR website when I was in last Saturday I'm not expecting up to the minute info!

I just wanted confirmation of my order having been placed.

I may well just pop over there next week and accost either or both of them!

I'm in the same position as you. I've found that the sales experience has been mixed but I've decided to wait for the delivery date and see if it ties in with what I've been told by the sales team.

Some of my e-mails and phone calls haven't been returned but others have. I do sympathise to the extent that it must be hard to keep up with customer enquiries and given the volume of orders that Middlehurst have that's a huge number BUT they are a business and if you can't cope, you hire more staff.

Andy and Chris seem like really nice people and its always been a pleasure to deal with them. I suspect that Nissan has caused a lot of these problems and to an extent this forum probably complicates matters with Chinese whispers.

Try to be patient (I know it's hard ), give it to the end of May and then if you still haven't had any luck complain to Nissan. I certainly intend to if the delivery date doesn't reflect when I placed my order, but that's hardly Middlehurst's fault.

In comparison I've been trying to buy a 350Z convertible for the past couple of weeks and I've dealt with 4 dealers all of which have been useless. The Middlehurst experience has been a lot better than those of my local Nissan dealers and I'm secretly optimistic

To add some balance I've got an order in with Middlehurst and spoken to Chris and Andy on a few occasions, no problems at all so far.

Must admit I've not called them much though, not interested in chasing rumours or confirming things that can't be confirmed yet.

Sure, but do you have physical evidence that an order has been placed with Nissan UK?

Yes, both email and snail-mail letter. I can understand the problem if you haven't got anything from Nissan and Middlehurst should certainly address those concerns.

im afraid i'd be going mental by now if no confirmation or anything received so far - you should at least have had the Nissan Uk letter with your password etc for the website.

Not had any issues with the boys there, sometimes it takes a while for a call to be returned, but had receipts and confirmation from Nissan UK.

Andy

Thanks for all of you who have taken the time to post, it is very much appreciated.

Sorry to be a pain guys but could I press those of you who have ordered thru Middlehursts for the time delay between payment of deposit and finally receiving your confirmation.

Genuinely I dont want to harass the guys at Middlehurst as I appreciate they are busy too......

.....but it would be nice to know my money has actually gone towards something!

I ordered mine march 07 with Chris. I get the feeling a lot of the issues have been caused by Nissan's misorganisation.

I'd echo what other people have said, When you can get hold of Chris or Andy they are very helpful and knowledgeable, I even went up to look at thier GTR.

It took my a while to get my order conformation and username and password. I'd always suggest phonining up and then asking for conformation via email (the issue I had is that my email address had been taken incorrectly).

As you say we will see what happens come the end of May

cheers

Michael

Like michaelsk, i payed full deposit March, got a letter from middlehursts 3-4 days later confirming that they had my money. Order placed with Nissan 2/4/08 got confirmation from Nissan late same day.

As for not returning calls, i cant comment on this aspect because i drive past there everyday, and if i have queries / questions its just as easy to pop in and myther the living daylights out of them.

Best of luck charles, but i'm sure everything will work out for you.

+++++ UPDATE +++++

Well I finally received my letter today from Middlehursts thanking me for my deposit. Strangely the letter is dated 6th May yet arrived in today's post (12th).

Anyway, all I have to do now is wait for Nissan to confirm that they've actually received my order and we're off!
