May 2009. Black edition in gun-metal grey.
I had originally ordered a Kuro Black body but Chris at Middlehursts reckoned that black obscured the lines of the body and he's probably right, so I changed it. Another thing that he pointed out is that if you have the aftermarket satnav fitted you have the satnav screen visible at just above eye level and you still get to see the vehicle info screen, which would be in use for the official satnav so not visible.
Middlehursts have a Vibrant Red black edition in the showroom and it does look good but the paint is showing quite a lot of wear. They also have a black car but it is away at the moment. Incidently, although they have been packed out at weekends, they were deserted yesterday morning.

The following is the review I posted on the M5 forum:

"I only had 15 minutes (passenger only) but all I can say is F*CK this thing is so damn quick (I drove a 997 GT2 several weeks back and I could not tell the difference up to the 112mph limiter on this car), completely seamless full throttle changes and the grip levels are unbelievable - if you commit to a bend and keep the power on you can either go round like on rails or in a huge controllable powerslide, dependent on how you set the suspension (I was shown this - kept me smiling for hours).

I was also shocked how comfortable the ride was - no Rolls Royce but very similar to my M5 which really surprised me. the wheels are huge (20") and the brake discs nearly as big!

I was also told by the Nissan driver that the car is deffo 480ps....at the WHEELS!! that's around 550 at the flywheel then!! That explains the scorching acceleration times then..

V spec - is coming but likely to be very small power increase as the transmission starts to have problems at 600 ps apparently (nb after market mappers), carbon fibre brakes and around 150kg less weight.
£77500 approx apparently.

Two hours drive round trip but i can say I was one of the first."

Was I inpressed? Put it this way, my order is still in!

I'd just like to add that all of the above driving was carried out on our own private test track and that I would never condone powersliding on public roads

Dave

Thought we had lost you!!

I would also confirm that all driving was within legal limits whilst on public roads - I always get myself into trouble somehow!!

See you soon

I'll be interviewing shortly. I have to say, getting back into the Z after the GT-R reminded me what a fantastic car the Z is. Ok it felt reeeeaaaaaly slow to start with, but the balance is perfect and I'm still loving the noise!!

The black car Middlehurst had is indeed the one that Marshalls had for their customer launch. But it doesn't belong to Middlehurst, it belongs to Nissan.
