For those f you looking to some to the Motor show and join us for lunch we hope you like what we've arranged: http://www.gtr.co.uk/summerfest/lunch.php

If you're not sure, remember on the Saturday there will be a selection of R35 GT-Rs at the Ace Cafe, so why not make a weekend of it? Come to the Ace Cafe on Saturday, spend a day in London on Sunday and then join us at the Motor Show and for lunch on the Monday!!!!

Count me in! I've just paid for the lunch and I'm looking forward to meeting some of you at long last.

I guess I'll pay up and join the GTROC on the day too.

There must be a discount for the co-founder and original Chairman though?

I might make the Ace Cafe too, but not sure at this stage.

If you are at the Sunborn Yacht event at the Motorshow membership is reduced by £10 if you join on the day. Details of the entire event are in the link.

The original Chairman of the GTROC was Guy who retired after six months due to work and other commitments. Whilst I am sure everyone accepts your role in establishing the Register, before Joss started the forum and then handing it over to Cem who has done remarkable things with it. The Register and Club are two completely different and separate things.

It would still be good to see you there on the 28th

they don't seem that separate to me since they both are on the same forum...was the GTROC founded as a spin-off from the register?

The Register started some time ago and was affiliated to the Group B Car Club, which sadly no longer exists. The management of the Register was passed from David Yu to Joss Ellis who established the original forum. Some of the original forum still exists in the deepest recesses of IT archives but right now I can't find it. Cem took over the GTR register some time ago and created a new forum and invested in developing the site to offer much more that a forum.

For over a year there had been discussions about establishing a paid for club that would offer members a lot more benefits. Discussions were held about making it part of the forum or keeping it separate. It was agreed at a pub meet attended by about 30 people that they should be separate and a GTR Owners Club established. It was agreed that this forum (GTR Register) would remain the communication channel and on-line presence for the GTROC and the "Club" would be an independent organisation that provided benefits to members and used the forum as its on-line presence. Thus a symbiotic relationship was established that benefited both parties but also allowed the two parts to focus on what they could do best.

The origianl Board Members of the GTROC when it held its Establishment Meeting at the Sheraton Skyline were:
Guy Ratcliffe
Cem Kocu
Claire Williams
Scott Martin
Shin Inoue
John Fuggles

In simple terms. Today if you wish to use the GTR Register to discuss matters GTR or Skyline it is free, all you need to do is register. If you wish to become a GTR Owners Club member and take advantage of the benefits we offer – including three dedicated members-only forum sections there is an annual fee.
