Donington for F1?

Wont happen. They describe Silverstone as run down, so they would be in for a shock if they turned up at Donington. Of course they know this, its just the usual story started by someone pedalling an agenda. F1 in the UK is either Silverstone or nowhere for the forseeable future.

It's no surprise ,Ecclestone hates Silvestone and has been wanting to rid himself of it for years .No way could Donnington afford to run a GP in this day and age ,I'm sure Bernie will be forking out or getting sponsors to pay for the massive upgrade at Donnington ,something he would never consider for Silverstone .I think Ecclestone would rather lose the British GP than have it at Silverstone ,or even have it on a bloody runway in a field.For some reason he hates Silverstone

Well if it is going to happen, and i STILL don't believ it I don't think the track is long enough. Okay so it will need a complete redevlopment and widening but even so there's hardly enough ground!

There was me thinking that modern F1 cars are less powerful than the ones back in 1993



TBH Silverstone is the dullest circuit I've been round, its so featureless! If they could make a wider version of Cadwell Park or Oulton even then that would make a killer F1 Circuit

Nice try mifn, but you've missed the point.

The FIA demand far greater things in terms of safety, width of track, infrastructure, hospitality, etc, etc, from a circuit now than they did 15 years ago. Donington has none of it.

I went to the last F1 race at Donnington, it was raining on half of the track and the other side was bone dry. I think Senna won, Murray Walker said it was one of his favourite Grand Prix races of all time.
I thought it was a good venue for an F1 race and the logistics were handled really well. This would also generate massive income for Donnington and would cover the investment needed to ready the track for a modern F1 race.
