Am I saying a 2530 is a lag monster, heck no. It is a great turbo, a little outdated but still a great turbo.
I was just here to say that the 2530 is not the turbo to end all turbos for the stock displacement, there is still give and take when it comes to the complete engine package. My goal for my GTR will not be the same for some people, and vice versa. Is one more correct than the other, of course not. Do I understand everything about how it all works, yes. Is Sam wrong for chosing a 2530 over a GT-SS, no. He undertands as well, it meets his goals. Do I need to read what Sean writes about turbo lag, no. Do I respect him, you better beleive I do. Thanks Steve! Tony |

Only problem is that you can't race on the street. If I was building a Race GTR do you think I would choose GT-SS turbos, nope ![]() |

lol.. Just came back from a quick hill lash.. and it sprung..
My car is punching out 330hp ATW... stock turbos, ecu, zorst and 1 bar. Now to my tale, few weeks ago up the same hill... I thought i did very good! Today I blew the last effort out of the window.. Thought I took the car through it's stock ceramic limits.. Guess I was wrong! Not sure how much more is in it.. Come to terms here... Who in there right F%^%$n mind could take a 2530 powered GTR through it's paces on the road without killing themselves? ..... you guys do remember the initial post ??? Quote:

I am sure they (2530 people) are going to say they are better drivers, or some thing like that Or only appling the power when going in a straight line, which is what they make V8s for![]() |

Some interesting points being made here.
Although I have driven cars with GT-SS and cars with 2530s, I don't actually have either in mine. I have R34 turbos so even smaller than the GT-SS. I do get frustrated with the boost and power limits of these turbos at times and would dearly love to be able to make 600bhp, but on balance the extra responsiveness I get low down has made the car far less laborious to drive a lot of the time. Horses for courses. If I could have the same low down response I have now but with 600bhp I'd be laughing, but I guess I'd only get that with something like a 2.8, big V-Cam, Procam exhaust cam and 2530s - in my opinion a lovely setup for those who can afford it. If you're less bothered about the low down response then I reckon the 2530s would be a great setup but unfortunately I've been spoilt with that side of it and don't want to let it go again. My previous car was about 250kg lighter than the GTR and had a 3.0 n/a engine so I found the GTR very disappointing off boost in the spec it was when I first got it (stock R33 except different filters, exhaust and boost @ 1.0 bar). The reason I still bought it was that I knew it could be improved. I'd really like one of those 7 litre Corvettes but I also like 4 wheel drive and rear seats. |

well, after a long pause in this thread, the time has come for my decision guys/gals,because my 2nd turbo housing has been found cracked.here's the stuff that ive got at the moment.
87mm CP forged piston HKS EVC4 twin apexi air filter custom front pipe + exhaust system catless 3inches piping HKS style turbo outlet by autobahn88 (just arrived) apexi power fc djetro (just arrived) uprated bosch external fuel pump using Blitz S3 ester based motor oil 20w-50 i thinks thats about it... and here are the stuff that ive ordered and on its way as we speak... fujitsubo equal length front pipe uras exhaust system type rs tomei poncam type B 260in/ex 9.1mm lift HKS GTSS power enterprise 680cc injectors tomei cam pulley power enterprise strengthened timing belt(in stock here at the workshop) due to budget constraints i have to delay my D2 6pot front brakes set.or do i need 8pot? is there anything ive left behind in my list to make sure that my RB's gonna be working fine?she just had a rebuild about 11months ago.and i have no intention of bringing my car to the track, cos simply tracks are non existent here, that's why im only focusing on the front brakes. all the help appreciated! zaki Last edited by zakiidin; 12th September 2008 at 12:49 AM.
