For the second year running Team Japspeed are pleased to celebrate huge success at the Autosport International Show. With our three Nissan S15 drift cars back in the Live Action Arena, Japspeed performed a total of 12 seperate shows to over 50,000 motorsport fans during the 12th-15th January.
Despite the slippery, polished floor, Japspeed performed each display faultlessly thanks to the expertise and skill of team drivers Shane Lynch, Shane O’Sullivan and Paul Smith. For those who weren’t lucky enough to witness the displays, Japspeed’s world-famous 1JZ Impreza took up display on the Maxxis Tyres stand with driver Steve Biagioni on hand to answer any questions.
“To be invited back for a second year was an absolute honour!” explains Japspeed Team Principal, Paul McCallum. “Even though we are busy preparing for the 2012 British Drift Championship, this was too good an opportunity to turn down. With thousands of motorsport fans in attendance – many who haven’t witnessed drifting before – this was a great way of demonstrating professional drifting.”

Alongside their stand, Maxxis Tyres equipped the team with their MA-Z1 Drift tyres for each display. Their super-grippy construction and immense longevity meant Japspeed’s drivers were able to unleash huge amounts of smoke without changing tyres after each run – a true testament to their development on one of the world’s only drift-specific tyres. Also in the pits, Monster Energy supplied the whole team with energy drink – as well as running their own S15 drift car!
“We have had nothing but positive feedback from the whole weekend!” adds Paul. “It was an absolute pleasure, and we look forward to an exciting 2012 season.”
