Just got back to Brum, been a long but excellent day. Weather was wet, not pouring down but wet enough to cause traction problems for everybody.

Great to meet Rob from RIPS, have dealt with him in the past, but good to actually shake his hand for the great work he has done for me.

Sparks your car looks amazing (even though it could have done with a clean)

Dont know the official results but the final shootout was between Ludder's Drag R (with Rob driving) and the Focus race car. Think the wet weather got the better of the Drag R, as it didn't even make it down the strip, but awesome showboating by Rob! He really knows how to drive that thing!

Overall was a great day and definately heading back again next year!

He did, to start with, the strip looked extreamely difficult to put the power down on. I think a few people needed a few spare sets of underwear!

Couldn't tell you the quickest times they ran as you can't see the timing boards from 90% of the strip. I know Drag R ran in the 9's, hopefully someone can confirm the official times....

So Ludders did drive it,but then Rob took over the car.

Are you allowed to have 2 seperate drivers use the 1 car like this??

Nobody knocked him out, he ran 9.60 in low boost and then had a mechanical failure (which meant he couldn't run the car again) whilst doing the top speed run.

Looked like a coolant leak; on the big screen they showed him coasting at the 1km with water dripping from the bottom of the car.

Just heard the same story from dutch friends who were visiting TOTB. Mechanical problem; loosing coolant or oil underneath the TR car. Sorry to hear this mate.

Also heard that Rob Ward was racing Jeffs R34 GT-R and went very well! Good news!
Reporting a 9.28s Anyone who can confirm this?

Henk

well guys just got on the pc after yesterday, tweenie did well and the car ran well until core plug failure, but i think even tweenie needs to hold his hand up and admit that the rips built 34gtr that geoff owns is.

the fastest rb30 in europe and built by and driven by one superb engine builder. and mapped by a genius.

the car ran faultless all day and i personally have never seen an engine given so much punishment. not many at totb do a 1/4 burnout in 3rd on the limiter. this alone shows the extent that rips and geoff have gone to in building this awesome machine. i am in no way linked to rips but i think in light of recent debate that car,its engine and builder deserve recognisition for what they have achieved here.

the slip says it all. go the ozzie rb30
