My R33 GTR Project. Project "500" BHP

I bought my Skyline last week. I wasn't looking for one, but when a mate bought one on ebay, then couldn't complete the sale, i offered to help.
He didn't want to take my money, so i looked at the car he'd one.
It was a good price, so it got me thinking about buying it myself.

Ive had loads of cars as i get board very easy. I went through the Impreza stage when i was 21, after having spent all my money on a s2 Escort RS Turbo. I got board of the 4wd impreza, so after 3 months swopped it for a Mazda RX7.

After owning all sorts, i felt i kept coming back to the e36 M3. I miss the power of a turbo, so bought a 300zx after a drunken chat with a mate about putting the engine into my M3. I bought a manual 300zx Twin turbo, but after a few days with it, i decided to keep it and sold the BMW.

Fast forward to 5 300zx's later as they kept blowing up on me, i stayed with the M3. I love the M3 totally, but its lacking that something.

In jumps the GTR!
The car ive bought is a good base car. Seems quite solid, and has a few bits on it to help me on my way.

HKS Boost controller
Oil Cooler
Ohlins Suspension
Rays Wheels
Apexi Exhaust
Air filter (unknown brand, will change them in time)
Turbo timer
Mines ECU

I've called it project 500, as thats what im after (for now), 500bhp.
Ive just bought a decat and downpipe, so im told theat will make it more responsive, and upping the boost to around 1 bar should make it feel much faster.
After that, when ive got some money, i'll looking into a Power Fc, Injectors and turbos etc

Let the fun commence!

Be careful on just upping the boost.

Although u may be interested in the stage one HKS ecu I have, mapped for exhaust filters, 1bar and also removes the limiter.

£150 to your door, although I cant send until 3rd Jan now as I finish work today

This is the one off eBay, it looked really nice and a bargain at the money, I was going to take it if your mate didn't complete the sale.

Have you got any plans to sort the strut top?

What sort of price are you talking for that mate? Ive got a trusted mapper in Greg at Protuner.
It was on ebay mate. The strut top isn't too bad, i'll get pictures of it when i get my camera. I pkan to get it into the bodyshop at some point next year.

Mine's VX-ROM is a great little unit, offered in various stages. But running one abroad is playing into a bit of trouble.

Sure you could add some sort of piggy back on top to dial in the fuel and timing settings. In the end though you would be better off just removing that ECU entirely and having a apex power fc fitted, or one of the many other stand alone units on the market.

I see a lot of guys oversea's, even here in Japan stating the Mine's VX-ROM as a sales point. When in reality it really could cause more harm than good.

Good luck your build. 500HP level is plenty good for these cars.

Well, i took my car round to my mom and dads today to keep in their garage. My garage is full of junk, and with these strong winds, i was worried something will fly into it. My M3's have been taken into hiding in a garage of a house we've built to sell that is currently empty.
I got there and felt the need to try drifting around the fire on the grass! Covered in mud and nothing to wash it with, i brought it home for a clean.
Took a few pictures with the camera as my phone is dying.

And the suspension turret!!!

Whats the going rate to pay for a proper job on that?
