It's worth paying a couple of thousands more for a less mileage car imo.

I won't consider a GTR over 8K personally.

I look through the ads and the first thing I look at is the desired mileage.

But then again, 15K is not really too high either, if it's a good deal why not.

Service will be due in March then. Tax is unavoidable though more expensive on a '10 plate.
Tyres at 4mm has got to be a good negotiation point; mileage you're buying a car not a museum piece so 15k is nowt.
If it's not at a HPC get it inspected by one, will set you back ~£140 but at least you'll know its history.

Sounds like it could be a decent option.

True, but I've not no idea how the tyres on the other car compares.
If you use a specialist like Litchfields the services are not so expensive. If you could get a grand off that's the tax and service covered. (well, almost)

Protegimus. Am I missing something. Why is the tax more on a 10 plate GTR?

Correct, it is more than double the cost for first year only.

I really like the car but is the mileage too high? I do about 5k miles a year and would probably sell after 1.5yrs.

It's going for £42k
This sounds like my old car... I part exchanged it in December. Registration MX10 ***, original registration MNK **?

Hi,

Yeah that's the same car. Can you tell me more about it please?

Did you change anything on the car while you owned it like brakes , tyres and disk? Was the car tracked or modified at all?

Car has not been modified. Front paint protection film, rear parking sensors and GT-R mats are the extras to standard Black Edition spec.

80% of those miles are boring motorway miles, so it's still on original tyres, which were around 4mm left. Nissan recommend 3mm minimum, which is still nearly double the legal limit. I would also replace the front discs and pads when you change the tyres.

No track days other than a CAT Driver Training day (in the wet).

Some other info (nothing you wouldn't be able to find out from calling Ancaster/Middlehurst):

- had a few warranty claims (who hasn't?) - bell housing, BOSE amp, front wheel, passenger door lock motor
- had a knock in to a kerb over a year ago. Had to have some suspension components replaced (at Middlehurst HPC)

Difficult to say how much these guys paid the dealer I bought my new car from, but I think it was around £40k.

Good luck!

Hi,

The dealer does not want to budge on the £43k asking price so I have decided to keep looking as it's going to cost me about £4k to do all the required work on that car.

For a lot of people GTR's are 2nd cars and for want of a better word, "toys". It's in their nature to often have several owners in a short period of time.

Or people get a shock on the running costs and change their mind...

I would love to owe one but, the 6 months interval and the cost of looking after one put me off big time. I'll wait until MY12 gets a little cheaper to buy, I think the service interval is longer on these?

I have to say this forum is probably the best I have visited in a long time. Keep it up guys and see you soon

On the positive side the interim is only a couple of hundred quid so not soo bad - unless you need consumables

I'll be getting a reverse camera fitted on the weekend (I know, gadgets huh!), and then thinking about Stage 1 or 2 upgrades.

Good luck.
