Launch

I have an 09 with Iain's adjustable Launch control. Now when iv got it set at 4000 revs and launch it the revs seem to drop to 3000 revs before picking up again. When iv seen U tube vids of other 2011- 2012 they seem to only drop to 3500 and no lower. Now i know its slippy roads at the moment so that dont help. I have each time picked a dry strip of road. Could it be because my tyres are at the end of there life ? Just interested to see if others are the same. I havent really tried it at its 4500 max yet, i suppose it would then drop to 3500 before picking up.

Iain your car looked awesome today at the show. Very brave leaving it so everyone could get there messy paws all over it lol. Michelins looked good and the carbon spioler is awesome.

As an aside, was the show horrendously busy today?

Show was pretty busy but no problems. Best to get there early and get gone by 3 ish. Unless you get chatting to a hotty bird that is

Made me laugh when we got to the Supercar stand as there's all these crazy price cars there but most people were gathering around the GTR.

Was only there on Thursday and Friday when it was a little less hectic. Iain's car attracted great attention and I ended up speaking to several visitors about the car and what Iain had done to it.

The Hulk was there along with a track attack SVM car in the arena. Both spectacular and both acted like a honey pot for the enthusiasts.

Spoke to my colleagues that were manning the stands today and their comments regarding the crowds are unrepeatable on this forum.

If anyone wants to see and meet anything to do with racing cars and their drivers then head to the NEC tomorrow. Just make sure you visit the Ginetta, BritCars and Radical stands

launch revs always drop initially. How much depends on the grip. As it is the middle of January then there is none so i would say its okay.

You see it slightly in this video..2012 Nissan GT-R Launch, 0-110mph - YouTube or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbyVL...feature=fvwrel

Infact search any launch video on YT and it will show you similar.

I wouldnt worry about it, think the lower it launches, the less strain you're putting on the box.

.

Hi mate,

how much HP are you running?

is your car standard like most launches on youtube?

I suspect that if you have a power upgrade (there is more tyre slip) causing the difference in revs before it picks up speed.

Also have you tried a launch at 3600-3750?

Just a thought because Iv noticed alot of the HIGH hp cars dont get off the ground as quick as the lower hp car (for say 30 yards or so)

P.S. im taking my car in for the variable launch system - sounds SICK!
