Are Black Edition wheels jet black or dark grey?

I always thought that the Black Edition wheels were dark grey but on the car I looked at yesterday they appeared to be jet black. Is that how they should be?

Thanks all, Alex

Dark grey, gun metal in colour. Some people have them refinished black.

Black on a black car (I think), is a little to much black. I like the standard wheel finish....mine again

Thanks all - the wheels on the car I saw have definitely been painted in that case.

I think I prefer the standard finish as well, especially as the car I viewed was black and I agree it looks a little too black!

Just an excuse to show some pics really

My second two pics don't really show up the wheels properly. The initial wheel shot is more accurate.

I am not keen on refurbing in black.

I had mine expertly refurbished by Valet Magic in adamantium grey. I posted somewhere about it with pics.

Matching the original colour is near on impossible.

Looking at the detailed car reminds me that I need to polish my tips - hate that job!

I'm pretty anti-black on wheels. Its a big fashion thing at the mo but for me it just loses the wheel. I looked at a black edition and it put me right off so actually preferred the premium. Didn't like the red on the seats either although it suits some colour cars better than others.

Can you get the paint on the premium wheels for touch-ups? my car came with a very minor mark on both which doesn't justify a re-furb but would be nice to touch up if poss.

^ ditto re tips, so much so I don't bother. also even though the detail materials help, I hate doing wheels! although the dark rays are much easier than most alloy coloured lacquered types.

So does anyone know where you stand with refurbed wheels and the warranty, specifically on a used car supplied by an NHPC?

I mean could they say that in the event of corrosion the wheels would not be covered as they have been refurbed and painted?

Basically I'd rather they sold me the car with original wheels so I'm wondering whether this could be a reason.

If you've had your wheels refurbed then of course the original warranty wouldn't apply.

Ok that's my point - I don't own a GTR yet but the one I'm looking to buy from Nissan has had the wheels refurbed in black, so they would be selling me a car with some parts not covered by warranty it seems...

I'd say that was correct - at least not under any warranty that Nissan would offer on the car.

Best thing would be to explicitly ask them. If they are happy to warranty the wheels get it in writing. If not then get them to knock some money off.

I think it is entirely subjective and subject to personal taste , but I'm with you on this - black is too dark.

As for warranty , keep it standard and it's no worries..
