Snow snow go away

I got my GTR just before Xmas. Always planned to buy then and got a superb deal privately so well happy.

I know it's winter and everything but it's bloomin frustrating not being able to drive the thing because of salt, wet roads and bloomin snow. Done 200 miles since I got it, half of that was bringing it home!

I keep reading how amazing these cars are but it's more annoying owning one, opening the garage door, saying 'hello my lovely' then closing it again.

I think I may get some shots of it sitting in the snow today just for an excuse to start it up!

Bought mine to use everyday and that's what's happening despite the lovely scottish winters. These cars are meant to be driven - get out and enjoy.

I've never really understood why you would buy a car like a GTR and then lock it away - unless of course you intend to hold on to it for the next 20yrs. For most people that won't be the case and they will be looking to sell/ exchange the car in 2-3 yrs (when the next big thing is available).
I'll look after my car in terms of keeping it clean and fault free - in two/ three years I'll possibly look to sell it on (having enjoyed it every day), it might have done 20k miles - compare my car to one that's done say 5000 (and is claimed to have 'only ever driven in the dry') and there will only be a couple of thousand in it at most.

I'll take the extended time behind the wheel everytime.

Your doing the right thing (IMHO)

My good car always stays off the road at winter, there is just too much 5hit on the roads, my winter car is getting stone chips every day, sod that for the GTR !

I'm a bit of a collector so I don't used the cars an awful lot, got a disco 4 for everyday use and those cars are awesome over the winter months. I don't know the Nissan well enough to take it on slippery roads so best left as is for the time being.

I respect the fact that they may be some peoples only car, I think most would agree though that they would prefer to not drive the cars through salt and the paths of gritter trucks if they had the choice.

If salt, ice, snow is a concern then that rules out about six months of the year. If the wet worries you (and you happened to live west coast of scotland) there would be another five and a half months ruled out!
Global warming! Someone's having a laugh - global wetting more like.

I think I would take it off the road over the winter as well, nothing worse than meeting a gritter coming in the opposite direction and not realising till you get nailed

Good idea.

Grit is really bad for your chassis.
