Talking First impressions, not disappointed!!!

Well, as some of you know I've been wanting an R35 since around 2009. At that point I got out of a Noble and jumped into a 996 Turbo as a bit of a stepping stone. I couldn't afford a GTR back then

Anyway, the 996 Turbo was a great car and very reliable. However my lust for an R35 just wouldn't go away. A couple of months a go I was in a position to get one as long as the Turbo sold. Well that took less than 24hrs of being in the ads lol. Started looking and after a couple of let downs I found my baby. A test drive across some nice country side and I was sold

Words can not described how excited i have been over the past 2 days. I know it's silly and i really should be a grown up but I just couldn't sleep and that's not a joke

I couldn't believe it when this morning came (Sorry Mart about not being able to meet you at Brands). The 140 mile drive there with the father inlaw was both exciting and annoying at the same time as I just wanted to be there lol. Having arrived at W Specialist Cars (Richard is a Top bloke!!) there was my baby. Seeing her again made me realise that 'Red' was the right choice for me After a smooth hand over I was off.

Man oh man this car was easy to get comfy in. Even after letting her warm through I couldn't give it too much of the beans as i was in convoy and we hit traffic in the town. Well this was my next surprise. I love having the Auto Option for traffic. Never thought I'd say that. It also gave me time to get playin' with some buttons Then whilst stuck in traffic it hit me. These cars attract a lot of attention. Just as much as what my old Noble did. Mate it's good to be in a car that stands out and is 'liked' again

Once on the motorway I said good bye to my father inlaw (Having had a lunch stop and taking a couple of pic's lol). Then the fun really started!!!!

I took a large detour down some fav roads. It was here that i planned to see what she could do. [email protected]*K ME in RRR mode and using the loud pedal at every opportunity this thing certainly delivers. I knew it would feel quick but the gear change and confidence inspiring handling meant I was covering ground a lot quicker than I could have in the Turbo. And I'm not known to hang around lol. Not knowing the car that well, but certainly gettin' close to be 'at one' lol I went for the 'Slow in, Fast out option'. Jesus this works well. The exit speed never ceased to amaze me and I was even starting to play a little and wiggle the arse. I know, not BIG or clever but great fun none the less lol. Only when it was safe and clear to do so obviously.

Sooo little lag and that gear change baby.

Anyway I finally got home and the car certainly caused a stir with the neighbours. The reaction was overwhelmingly positive. lets hope it stays that way once I finally get to Stage 4 and she's a bit louder in the mornings lol (Eventual target for me).

I'm a big detailing nut. Not a garage queen. It's just that i like to give every car i own a full correction treatment and then maintain the finish at every opportunity. I think that's why the Porker sold so quickly. Well she certainly needs a big hit and there's a lot of car to do lol. She only just gets in the garage lol. Robbie, I'll be PM'ing you for some advice if that's ok??

Anyway, I apologise for ranting on and appreciate you have all got them so know what I'm talking about. Can't imagine what 650, 750 and upwards feels like I just wanted to share my day in brief as it's been bleedin' fantastic

Just had a play with the toys whilst in the garage. Giot the phone hooked up and some tunes all setup. I LOVE this car. certainly a keeper.

Here's a couple of pic's. They're not great as they were rushed jobbies for text messages to mates. Once she's fully detailed I'll post a thread in the relevant section and link it to this one for people that are interested to take a peak

Roll on tomorrow as me and the wife are taking her out

Congratulations on picking it up.

They really are great cars.
I can go out for an evening blast, leave everything standing and the next morning take the family down to the supermarket and fill that big boot up.

Nice one; I've been following your thread which has made me smile. After a drive in mine, I always find myself grinning and shaking my head in disbelief. An awesome machine. Enjoy it to the full

Thanks fellas. Up early again to go out for a run lol. I thought buying it was costly but I think I need another loan for petrol lol. I just can't get enough of it.

Funny thing is with the colour I have never been a fan of red cars. BUT for me it just looks sooooo right on the GTR. Soooooo happy. Thanks for the PM Rob and look forward to speaking to you mate ; )

GTR looks fantastic, like the red too, love driving mine managed 1200mls in my first 3 weeks of ownership and they do turn heads wherever you go and like you say they must be fantastic with a stage 4 or 650R upgrade

Well done Saucy,
Does look great in red. Ive just been out in mine for the first time in a fortnight, due to work and circumstance, and the GT-R fever is as strong as ever, you will never tire of it. The car makes me smile every time im out in it, and thats what its all about, and mine is only the crappy , 485bhp. A fantastic car in every sense, regards, SIMON.

Same as that, i've never liked red cars but the GTR looks the nuts in red. It was a toss up for me whether to get red or white and a white one came along.

Looking forward to meeting up buddy.

Drive safe...(u know what I mean!)

Looks great in red - has always been my favourite colour for the R35.

Test drove my 3rd GTR yesterday - a standard 2009 car. This was my first chance to drive as far as I wanted on my own.

Wow.

Tell me - how can a car which weighs 200kg more than my old 911 turbo and has slightly less power feel so much faster, responsive and nimble? How can an AWD turbo have the same, instant, explosive throttle response as my old 7 litre Z06 'vette? Is it magic? I bloody love these things - like your own starship enterprise in the garage and private rollercoaster all-in-one. Jealous - but only for a few more weeks. The time has come.

Talking

Well first full day under my belt and all I can say is it just keeps getting better.

Gave the obligatory joy rides to friends and family today. Bloody hell these are quick cars. You guys running big brake must have complete monsters. Really impressed at how the R mode allows some slip when wanted. Please don't get the impression that all I have done all day is hoon it around. Just had a few moments of spirited driving when the road allowed and she was great!!!! She was also a great cruiser on some motorway driving and best of all the wife likes her

I'm proper smitten
