Post New Arrivals at Litchfield

It was extra busy last week with some new arrivals

First the new Tyre changing and Air Conditioning machines were delivered.

Our new Hoffman Tyre Changer and balancer is the same top of the range equipment used by Porsche and Ferrari. This model is also required equipment for Nissan HPC’s and it specifically designed to work with low profile run flat tyres. In addition we have also specified their latest fully automated tyre arm which means the operator does not need to use any extra levers to force the tyre from the rim and removes the chance of any alloy wheel damage by the hand held lever slipping.

The advanced Hoffman wheel balancer features a digital arm that places the wheel weight in exactly the right position to insure perfect balance whilst using the minimum amount of weights.

Our new Air Conditioning machine perfectly complements our other servicing equipment and will allow for quick servicing and recycling of the system.

No sooner had we finished our training on the new equipment then the covered transporter arrived with our new 2012 GTR and Nissan Juke

We have already seen the 2012 GTR but it has been interesting to spot some of the tiny changes.

However we are excited to start work on the Juke, we have some past experience with the car so it was nice to get hold of one of our own

We have some cool plans for the Juke! The car has already tried some larger 20” wheels and is currently being tested on Ecuteks’ dyno…

Regards

Iain

So you're doing a tyre change on those wheels to test the new machine?
Are they 20" or 21"?

Yeah I had that issue with TPMS sensors on my Z06's race wheels. You really need to exactly duplicate the interior shape of the OEM wheels or the movement of the sensors will break them.

We used loads of silicone to form a pad and to hold them in place, but the tiny flexing still broke valves eventually due to metal fatigue.

Jurgen, make sure the interior mirrors the OEM rims exactly if possible.
Iain, what are the TSWs like for mounting the sensors?

Sorry for the thread hijack!

It was because on the oe wheels the tyre sensor points across the inside of the rim
On these wheels the sensor points down into the tyre. If it was to hit a big bump the tyre would deflect inwards and you run the risk of hitting the sensor. I'm sure there is a way round it but I need to speak to Cor
