think im gonna go for it! thoughts

Nissan GT-R BLACK EDITION 3.8 V6 | eBay

have been dreaming about buying one of these for ages and am in the very. fortunate position to own my dream car. i been looking about and think black is the best colour so have been looking about.

this one has caught my eye, low miles, still under warranty, full main dealer history, just serviced.

does anyone know if i can extend the warranty on the car as only nissan have looked after it. or anything else i should be looking out for.

any advice most welcome as this i a big amount of money and cant afford buying a lemon!

thanks

You always seem to buy good examples of r33s and then make them better so I reckon you'll be fine.

Wonder what the ins cost is for one of these based on a 32 year old with consistent speeding points but no claims.

getting different quotes, still to shop around but around 1500 i wouldsay?

JapFreak786 7th March 2012 08:59 PM

Wrong section...

JTJUDGE 7th March 2012 09:03 PM

Yeah best to put it in the r35 section!

I haven't paid over 1k for my ins since 2002. Thank god having parents in the countryside ;)

have been getting quotes, looking at 2k.

i have a question. the nissan main dealer warranty expires in july, can i extend this? or has anyone got extended warranty from anywhere and how much it costs

if i go ahead with this i want warranty for peac of mind.

Strange though it sounds, there has been no concrete word form Nissan re extended warranties.

We've had rumours ranging from 1200 to 5k plus!

Given some of us are very very close to the end of a fabulous 3 years, it's bizarre that Nissan havent been in touch.

imm in a similar situation to you , imm looking for a nice one about 40k ish being looking at middlehurst, they have a 10 plate grey one for 48 k , its too much money for me though, waiting to see what else comes in, but i look at other dealers but imm a bit off a pussy and dont want to buy a dog, if any one one hear knows of a nice one please point me in the right direction, but i do have a 07 plate RS4 to part ex, so it makes it a little more difficult, are there any 2nd hand dealers to stay away from , pm me if any one does not want to mention names in public,

sorry if i have hijacked your thead, looks nice btw

I got an extended warranty offer from Noble's, 1 year 2,568, 2 year 6,558.
Going to take my chances, only done 12k in just under 3 years.

Been thinking of one myself but the basic running costs are a worry!
400 tax, 2000 tyres, 1500-2000 insurance, then theres the fuel!

Think I may wait a year or so and see what the prices do

weebaws 9th March 2012 12:31 PM

I'm 31, no claims but 9 points and pay 1100 through CCI.

I'm not sure re warranty, although when I spoke to Nobles they mentioned they were working on a cheaper mod-friendly option..

Nothing against the car but the ebay listing is awful.

I notice its ended, has a purchase been made?

Euroexports 9th March 2012 02:12 PM

no i was supposed to buy today but then found out the car belongs legally to owners girlfriends mother who is going away today and not there till next week.

i could have just gone and bought the car but would rather not risk it unless im buying from the legal owner.

37k is a lot of money so taking no chances what so ever

It is odd, a UK 09 car can't have nav and it's not mentioned in the listing at all. I think he's used an MFD picture from somewhere else, it says a range of 111 miles....not with the amount of fuel which the gauge shows!!

Euroexports 9th March 2012 04:19 PM

i could just walk away from this one. the car sounds genuine but just these little points you guys are bringing up is making me doubt the car. this is exactly why i put this post up so i dont end up getting stung. thanks for your help guys.

i did speak to middlehurst who confirmed the history and warranty with them so .....

really gonna have a very serious think before parting with the cash, not sure what do to to be honest

dominic1 9th March 2012 04:54 PM

my dad all ways said " if it dont sit right or feel right .......... walk away......" looked at 6 RS4 before i bought the "one" your right its a hell of a lot of money for there to be problems later on.

Right thing to do - just tell the owner to call you when she is back and you can head over then. Buys you a week to continue the search.

Tonto_GTR 9th March 2012 07:24 PM

"selling for a friend" . Not enough information there
"Deposit within 12 hours". How? , not enough details.

I have bought (cheap) cars off ebay before with no problems. However, I've been to examine and test drive in every case. There is NO WAY I would part with this kind of cash without seeing, test driving and having the car examined by a specialist.

Maybe just me being over cautious .
