Miltek

Just had the car back from Litchfields and it has the Miltek exhaust fitted.
Can someone post a close up of the tails for me to compare. It looks odd to me so just want to check.

Odd in what way?
The exits look big, but the pipes are noticably smaller?

This is the best I have to hand where they are clean so you can see them well.
They go black very quickly.

The tail pipes are big but they look like they are sticking out too far.

It looks all out of proportion and spoils the look of the car.

I can't imagine that everyone that's fitted the Miltek system has it like this and I've not seen it commented on.

May be best to post up a picture of yours for comments?

Mine do look like four big trumpets sticking out the back, but I wouldn't want them tucked into the body too closely. Otherwise the bodywork would get black when you are booting it.

Mine look exactly the same, I agree I would prefer if they stuck out less , but keep he back end cleaner.

How much difference do the brakes and the anti roll bars make?

You can have the miltek rear section and retain the OEM exhaust tips and it costs less...have a chat with Iain and he can confirm.

I don't know yet because it was done in November and the weather has not been great since. So no open track sessions or Santa Pod yet...
I was meant to be going to Marham last Saturday but some knob caught the front wing, so it's having a bit of TLC at the moment.

Once it's back I'll do a few logs with the Vbox.
So far the best I could do on a slightly damp road was a 70mph-0mph in 3.3 seconds.

I thought the same when it was first fitted but the tailpipes are adjustable so you can take them in slightly, i got mine taken in only about 10mm but it surprisingly satisfied my OCD!! lol

Haave to say I dislike having the logo on there.
When I clean them it looks like scratching. Give me a smooth finish any day.

I hadn't thought about that as I haven't cleaned them yet. I loosened the clamps and moved them in about half an inch and it looks better.

I took the car out for a spin and found it much smoother. I reversed out of my drive with the car cold and had no clunking or jerking into first like I've had from stock. Car felt faster and much smoother but I have to say it sounds quieter than before and I feel the auto blip on down changing is almost non existent. As I was changing down I'm seeing the revs increase obviously from the down change but it doesn't sound the same. I'm thinking this may be the exhaust note rather than the revs.

This takes me to the Y-Pipe. I had the Y-Pipe fitted from new before I picked the car up. I had no idea about resonated or non resonated pipes back then so have no idea which one I have. I assume the non res pipe will be louder? I'm not looking for stupidly loud but it does seem quieter than before. Anyone else seen this?

Ally

I have just had a Litchfield Satge 4 as well.

When I dropped the car off Iain explained the options that were available to me for the exhaust (three I think). I ended up going for the 90mm Miltek Sport system with a new Y-Pipe and the slightly-sticky-out tail pipes.

As far as I could understand ALL the systems are slightly quieter than the stock set-up with just a Y-Pipe. I have also lost the high pitched rasp on full boost and during downshift, but it has been replaced with more of a roar and a noticeable induction whoosh and off-throttle hiss! I think it sounds fantastic and is of course much more track day friendly
