gearbox update

The 2009 will do 0-60 in under 4 seconds...

The MY2012 will in under three....

However, with a Litchfield stage 4 (600 + bhp) and the new gearbox software, is there any reason why the 2009 could not be made to match the newer car's figures?

I cannot think why not, but then nowhere on youtube (etc) can I find it confirmed.

I think this calls for a drag race ! Iv got Litchfield gearbox update. Only tried it a few times but i really need new tyres. Revs seem to drop quite low before picking back up on a launch. But yes cant see y it wouldnt be as quick if not quicker. Dave

Driven: Litchfield Nissan GT-R review and pictures | evo

The stage 1 package with gearbox software seems to perform the same as 2012 model

Some people in the states seem to think that despite the software upgrade the the cobb provided them, that there is still a hardware difference between pre and post (our) my2011.

That theory is based on empiral evidence from the drag strip due to 60ft times simply not coming down enough in the remapped earlier cars to match the later cars.

It might be the cobb gearbox software not being as good as the ecutek, but we don't know. There's just more people on the cobb testing its effects, especially in the states.

Would need to test the two cars side by side on the same day and track with ideally the same tires to be sure. I have vboxed my 2010 litchfield stage 4 at 3.2 secs but could probably improve with practice. The addition 0.2 or 0.3 is all down to grip.

Yes I have both, and yes i used it, but only a couple of attempts so far. Definitely needs practice. Have just been given a new map from Iain so will try again when weather is better. I think everything needs to be spot on to get under 3 seconds

Thank you very much for that link..... It is 'estimated' in the text, though.
