MY13 or Ring 24 racer

Just posted a pick form Pistonspy on the Ring 24 hour race thread

They say Ring racer doing some testing, or something hardcore tasty for MY13?

That is one odd looking car.

Alcon BBK or bigger on front hubs, alloys are some weird 80's blingfest.

Looks like a testbed to me.

the blue car seems to have a rear diff cooler, bigger than the Nismo one, and centrally sited for the first time

They are some big assed wheels, look like they maybe bigger than 20's

Agree with CC, they look like they're off an 80's Merc SL500 or similar. They don't really do it for me.

Given the N24 race participation is for road car development , we'll be sure to have a good poke around at the event.

They're the Nismo wheels with a new centre lock hub.

Yeah when I meant centre lock hub, I mean they've covered that part so you can't see it for some reason.

A little poking around has confirmed these are the N24 race cars.

Apparently the wheels relate to what is required for industry pool testing and the need to get to and from the track from Capricorn.

So there may be some interesting spots in the weeks running up to the Race.

Back to my Nissan does a '911 GT3' variant dream

check out the scoop on *Breaking News: GT-R Development Team to Compete in 24 Hours Nurburgring Race( Future Model Implications&#33* - NAGTROC - The Nissan GT-R Owners Club

this car is a development car. nothing much stock. will use the data for the next gtr and variants.

its also a publicity stunt to suggest there is nothing wrong with the transmission when there are known failures that will happen to the trans in every gtr at random times. circlip, seals, sensors, etc.

the wheels are center lock on these cars. they might also be magnesium. Nissan won't admit to that tho. the fronts are bigger and mentioned in the nagtroc article link.

the stock gtr doesn't make much downforce at all. 24kg front and back at 153mph... that's poor. the wind tunnel testing was for negative lift and .27 aero smoothness lol. hence the reason for the small gt wing and minor front lip increase.
