I totally agree with what you're saying but there's a massive difference between 1 week and the delays and broken promises I have had to deal with. It's only because Iain is a genuine sort of guy that I'm even going to pay for the work. I think all the guys on the forum deserve an in depth review of what to expect if they decide to use Litchfields. All those that know me or have followed my posts will know that I'm not one to complain or chat bubbles. I genuinely feel extremely aggrieved by Litchfield Imports customer service. I understand that unexpected delays can occur especially when you have to rely on external engine builders who may not always be forthcoming with accurate timescales but feeding customers false expectations when you are fully aware that these promises can never come to fruition is totally unacceptable.

I have always been a big advocate for Litchfields and probably will continue to do so as I do not doubt the quality of work but this should not be a compensatory factor with regards to customer service.

Iain has been extremely apologetic on several occasions and has tried to justify this situation by citing a very busy period where they have a massive backlog of work but u all will agree that it's very testing when someone is spending a fair amount of money with someone and should expect a similar level of service too.

Update!!!

Having just had a very lengthy discussion with Iain Litchfield , I am happy that we have resolved the entire matter. I think I have let my frustration with regards to getting the car back get to me somewhat and lost sight of the fact that we are working with perfectionists. I have spoken to Steve the engine builder and he went through a whole load of extra work he did on the heads (which Iain will not charge for ) which he did as he wanted this car to be perfect before Litchfields can put there name to it. I am aware that another chap has had similar work done and he was in and out within 4 weeks and my car took longer than envisaged but I'm confident it's going to be worth the wait. I've already referred 2 other gtr owners to Litchfield and will continue to do so especially now that Iain has managed to trawl through the backlog and is back to full speed. I suppose the delays are an inevitable side effect of all the success and great workmanship. As I'm having a new 2012 front bumper fitted, delays from the small parts required have now been explained. I'm glad I'm back upto speed with the project and look forward to collecting my car tomorrow.

Will update you all with pics. Especially with the dyno read out once me and Iain go to the rolling road in a fortnight!!!!

What rollers you using ? I think a hub Dyno will put your power down

If you can be so bold, are you prepared to state your predicted power
Bhp&Torque?

With heads done should be easy over 1000bhp what are you hoping for
Boxer?

Not sure which rolling road. I think it's Surrey.

With regards to power not sure exactly. Iain has advised that 850hp is a sweet spot for road use but will be able to hit 1k hp on tracks. Will know soon enough. Torque will be around 800 I think. Want to strike a balance between thunderous power and usability. I have left it to Iain to decide on where the perfect spot is.

Loving the complementary forge header tank and carbon slam panel!!

I wish my car was delayed by another few weeks now Iain!! Could end up with your car as a complimentary gesture. I wish!

Good stuff from Mr. Litchfield

Good news. Not long before ure sorted as well hopefully. I've got lm800 turbos, 1100 cc injectors. No flex fuel or forge rad but have gone for Alcon bbk. Gearbox has got circlips done and bigger magnets along with clutch upgrade. Thought about first gear but Iain advised me that he has been on endless track days in his car which runs over 850hp and has not done any gears. When one of his gears did go, it was third so best to wait for any problems to occur and deal with them as and when required. He seems to always charge a fair price with any work so rather hold back on too many gearbox mods for now.

Right now I am after max reliability , I do lots of miles and track it too , will probable go for a larger displacement engine and the new turbo kits as they get tested out , in the mean time hope this is a good , reliable setup to go back for more to Litchfields as I already send him a friends a Gtr already there , the max I can get out of them will be my goal for the say map 4 on the map selector , 1 could be the min they do on 1bar spring actuator , 2/3 will be track maps which I will need to talk to Iain about how torque and hp will be set and applied .
