Audio and navigation system temporary failure

Hi all,

A few days ago my audio and navigation system had a wobble. Some things still worked but the GPS position was off by a few miles, the system wouldn't find any postcodes or cities, and the sound level was fixed at a very low volume. But I could still skip tracks and increase / decrease the volume (even though this had no audible effect).

Everything is now back to normal, but the only thing to note is that the nav system freezes for about a minute or so after startup before I can enter a postcode or city and it's always been this way.

Has anyone had anything similar before? I'm within the 5 year warranty of course and am concerned that it will happen again, but I suspect if I go to Nissan they may just say that it's working now and won't replace it.

Any words of wisdom?

Thanks all,

Alex

When mine had an intermittent fault it showed up as a fault code on the NHPC Consult III diagnostic, WLMG at Slough replaced mine as a warranty issue.

Thanks Barry - I did wonder whether a fault code would show up so I guess it's best to take it in and see what they say.

It would be a good idea to visit them, even to have it on record that the problem happens and then if you pass the 5 year and it completely goes, you might have a chance at warranty help.
