Heads-up on WLMG Slough

Just a heads up but it looks like Indie at WLMG Slough is leaving.

No idea where he's off too, but gutted as he was a legend, always took time to come and chat about the car.

I think he's off at the end of the month. Also gutted as he was passionate about the GTR and the work he put into them.
WLMG Slough are going to lose a heap of customers I reckon...

Hopefully he'll come to Bristol so I can take the car there without fear!

He cared for the GT_R and the customers.

Always serviced the car with a smile.

Every GTR that went to Slough, Indie cared for it like it was his own.

Indie is a top guy and probably one of the best GTR techs any of the NHPCs had in their employment
I hope he's not thrown in the towel, I did suggest a few months ago he contacted Iain to see if any jobs were going in the Tewkesbury area

Indie's last day is the 6th September and he is leaving the business and changing career.

This is a massive loss to all GT-R owners who have used WLMG Slough over the past years and he will be irreplaceable.

Indie was voted top GT-R Technician in 2012 and would probably have picked up the award again this year. His passion and ability to deal with all GT-R customers as if they were the only customers in the world was incredible, and we will all miss him enormously.

I know what Indie's plans are and I personally wish him every success in the future

What a loss, I will be going to Litchfield or Sly in this case.

I've not had much luck booking my 24 month service, I called yesterday and was told the GTR reception specialist was too busy to speak with me and that he'd call back...24 hours on and no call back. I called again this afternoon and lady apologised for the lack of call back, she e-mailed GTR service department and I still haven't been called back this afternoon!

The place has gone down hill since Indie stopped dealing with bookings via e-mail. It was so simple back then.

I suspect the following happened:
- Indie manages bookings and sets aside the time required to do top quality work on our cars.
- Management see that Indie is spending more time that is absolutely necessary - Nissan (afaik) say 3.5 hrs for a regular service, which leaves no time for things like removing brake dust from drill holes, for example.
- So... instead of, say, two cars per day, they should service three. And charge the same.
- That's a 50% increase in revenue.

Nice revenue increase in theory so from a purely numbers pov, makes sense.
But what they haven't accounted for is the ~75% loss in customers, and revenue.

Either that, or they've made a conscious decision that the non-GTR regular Nissan business is what they want to be in.

Sad Loss

I can honestly say i have never felt more reassured every time i left my car with Indie. His professionalism from the very first contact right through to collection was outstanding.
WLMG will become the same as all the other very mediocre HPC once he has gone and maybe then they will realise just what a massive asset he was. Good luck with your new venture Bud.

P.S WLMG if our reading this. Remove me from your books because if Indie isnt there you wont be seeing me again.

It would be a nice gesture if the club invite and pay for Indie and his partner to come along and stay the night at the AGM dinner as a thank you for all his work on members cars over the years. If the club is unable to fund this I'm sure the members who have used his services would be more than happy to donate a few pounds to cover the costs.

I had to call back for a third time today as I'd still not had a call back in 48 hours. I said they had just lost my business due to basic customer service, the lady on reception asked if the service manager could call, so which I agreed to.

Service manager lady called and apologised, blamed phone system. Their email system must also be screwed as the lady I spoke with yesterday said she was going to email the service team stating that I'd already called back twice and was still waiting for a call back.

Bottom line is they are fully booked until Indie leaves, they offered me a service at their other branch which I declined (despite having paid £500 service pack). I told her I'd be going independent from now on. I think WLMG will have a small shock in the coming weeks with massive loss of GTR custom.

Problem with being really good at your job and keeping customers happy is you can't progress any higher than tech.
Management just don't want to lose you from the role.

I believe Sly had the same issue...

I received a letter through the post today informing me that Slough will no longer be a NHPC, they are going to be using the Mill Hill branch only.

Never dealt with Indie directly but it seems that he provides excellent customer service. Something that is very important in the eyes of the customer, something perhaps some traders are starting to forget...

Took mine to Sly at Kaizer instead.

Had new Disks, pads and a service done.

Car will only be going there from now on. Awesome customer service from Sly and a nice bloke to boot.
