BTW what suspension setup are you running?
Yes, when I looked at the Vbox I was only pulling about 0.8g through most of the corners.
I'm on normal geometry (no Nismo adjustable arms) but am running 888s so I'm thinking it's got quite a bit more grip than I am used to. Maybe I should be pulling 1 to 1.2g.

The back is not really stepping out yet, partly also because I'm not getting on the power quite early enough as well as not carrying enough corner speed.

When I had my R35 I never ran it on 888s, only Michelin Super Sport road tyres.

Currently the digital controller to bring the front end into play a bit more is also not active, I'm running on the stock system which is a real indication I need to push more as I'm running the stock four wheel drive settings/G-sensor.

The suspension is Black Art Design.
I have the one way adjustable kit as it's a road and fun car and I have it set loose on the road (turned to 0 out of 30) and have not really experimented with it yet.

Now I'm starting to get a feel for the car I'm back at Brands in four weeks, by which time everything will be up and running including the new intercooler, full design power (around 550) and the selectable digital controller so I'll try firming it up and see how if effects the cornering.
I am a bit wary of tightening the rear up too much though as I want it to be able to move about rather than skip and jump.

Before that though I'm booked onto the GTROC Sprint Series at Combe in under three weeks...

Hey Richard,

I don't usually post on here however in this instance I feel compelled to do so.

I just want to say that I think this R32 that you have built is utterly stunning. I LOVE how you've kept an emphasis on retaining the cars OEM look in both the exterior and interior. Also keeping the engine bay standard "ish" looking too is a major success. Well done chap.

How do you feel you have done with the car? Does the Black magic suspension unit meet your requirements?

It certainly looks very planted out on the track and sounds brilliant too!

Do you have a build thread link to the Skoda?

And on the subject of Rota wheels, I understand why people use them however I would never run such wheels on my car as I feel that they're not the originals, they're not the real deal and I think that they're inferior to the original wheels. Not to mention this car deserves nothing but the best as you have shown so far. A nice set of TE37SL's would be superb on this!

When will you receive your R35? It can't be long now surely, with the 14 plates coming out and all that.

I know it's nothing to do with me so don't feel the need to reply but I'm interested to know what line of work you're in? It seems your finances aren't too problematic...

Hi Ross,

Thanks for the comments, I like the more OEM look and I've become a big fan of the R32's styling.

The Skoda still isn't finished.
Hoping it's a few months away, but with the builders now sponsoring the GTI trophy I suspect they are going to hit workload issues which will push it back further.
If you google "Briskoda Citigo 4x4" you should find it.
However as it's been going on since July 2012 there a lot of chat between the updates and pictures on the thread.

MY MY14 GT-R was due last Friday, but has been put back a week.
If I am honest I'm not really worried. I've been having so much fun in the Skyline that I'm already not sure how long the R35 will be with us.

Work wise I run a transport company that we started 14 years ago and another we took over with heavy tax losses that we turned around. Started to make decent money about 3 years ago after ploughing it back into the business year after year.
The losses have allowed us to make some money without having to give loads to the government.

Nice vid!!!

Shame about the sound, without decent sound you miss half the picture same on mine, all you get is wind noise with the camcorder. My iPhone records better sound and picture not bad either, esp with the lap timer data.

As tommy says, great line coming onto the straight

What will you do about the exhaust? 103 db is pretty loud, you might struggle passing noise tests with it

I could look for something a bit quieter, although I hear the RB does tend to be a bit noisy...

Funny thing is that although it was 103 db on the noise test and they said I might fall foul of the drive past limit I was fine.
Spectators said it wasn't actually that noisy when I was going round and some cars were worse.

I have a Kakimoto with a mid and rear silence, bore is 90mm but it is on the quiet side. At brands a few years ago I got 97db on the noise test.

Do you know what power a system like that can flow?
I'm aiming for around 550 and don't want to restrict it.

Cheers, I'll give Ron a call tomorrow and bounce the idea off him.
See what's about.

Do you know what db it makes at 5,000rpm for a noise test?

The Skoda build is very impressive.

Thanks for the comprehensive reply and good luck with the car.

TE37SL would be so good on this. I had a couple of links to post but I can't due to post count. Evasive motorsport sell them, OR contact Jesse Streeter and ask him to price getting a set shipped from Japan...

You gotta do it!!

my hks silent exhaust is only about 96db at 5.5k static. It does fail the drive by at Bedford though since having the cat removed and remap (same boost)

Tommy it's ace you can go there

Maybe one of the only skylines I know?

Was discussing this with Ron today Sam, we are going to give a HKS Silent System a try.

It was making 103, which is close enough to 105 db already.
That was when the car was making 450bhp so when it's in top form I'm concerned enough to try a change.

We also noticed that when it's cloudy the R35 looks almost the same colour as the R32... matching pair.

Think I've found a way of getting the exhaust noise down for track days...
