Got my GTR!! A few questions

Hey Guys
Picked up my GTR yesterday. To say im impressed is an understatement!!
Not sure how to post pics on here??

A few questions

1, Ive had a new battery put in the spare key as the other was dead. key still wont do anything....Do I need to get it re programmed and if so where?
2, I need some new wiper blades. Went to Nissan and was quoted £124 for a pair!!! Now im not afraid to pay for stuff but Jeez that's just ridiculous. Can anyone advise if these can be bought elsewhere?
3, My car has had the gearbox s/w upgrade done by Iain. Its still clunky when going from park to drive or reverse, or neutral to drive/reverse. Could this be the gearbox solenoids needing cleaning?
4, When I get in to the car there's a ticking sound coming from the rear. I know its not a bomb!! But can anyone advise whet this is?

Im sure there will be more questions but Im now going out to spend the PM cleaning MY GTR!!!!!

Thanks Guys
Louie

2. wiper blades - FFS! I have never enquired
3. Not sure how much of a clunk you're talking about but mine is certainly not overly loud/clunky although it's not seamless by any means.
4. That sounds like your tracker IIRC other similar people's threads, but I don't recall it's indicative of a problem. Have a search if you can.

You are not far from me, Im between Godstone and Redhill. Chat to Sly at Kaizer Motors, he is a trader on here and is very highly recommended. His place is my cars 2nd home!

Ticking? While still? Tracker.... While moving? if you touch the brakes, does the noise disappear? Could be pre-tension clips on the brakes.

Random image.... quote my post and have a look at the tags around the image URL

If the car ticks for about 6 or so times when you start it, then you have a Cobra tracker fitted that's not active.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Cobra, trackers that help you find them.

If you call them and hand over a decent amount of money they'll activate it and it'll stop ticking.

Congratulations mate! I hope that you enjoy the car

1. I think so yes. I think that you may need to take it to a NHPC but Sly (Kaizer Motors) or Iain (Litchfield) may be able to help you out.

2. PIAA silicone wiper blades for R35: R35 GTR Pair of front Piaa Silicone Wiper Refills - £24.98 : Fasteronline

3. Mine will make a clunk during that initial shift from cold i.e. from R through N to D. If you hold the button down during the whole shift & shift slowly it should be slightly quieter but I don't think it's anything to worry about. Just one of the many GT-R phantom noises

4. Yes, that will be the Cobra tracker. And if you don't renew it https://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/240761-co...ed-my-car.html You can get it removed though and a different tracker fitted so no dramas.

I used Bosch Aerotwin AR728-s blades which are a direct replacement so no messing around fitting refill blades. They were under £20 for the pair though you migjt have to go to a trade supplier like Andrew Page,Europarts etc as you are unlikely to find them stocked at Halfords.

The gears always make a clunk when going from neutral to first or reverse. The new software mainly smooths out downshifts on the move. Its perfectly normsl and nothing to worry about.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago. The dealer (NHPC) said the clicks from the rear was the fuel pump priming. So it's not then ? Is the NHPC salesman a bell-ends then ?

Thanks guys for all the replies.

My GTR is going to Sly on the 29th to have the G3 service, Milltek downpipes and the bell housing upgrade as although it was checked by Litchfield and within tolerance its a little too rattly for me so getting it done. Sly will also sort my spare key for me. Im considering one of the japspeed chrome hardpipe intercooler kits and also a set of BOVs Has anyone fitted the hardpipe kit and is this the same size as the OE pipes? I know that Litchfield do a set of larger intake pipes...would these be a better option? Also can the BOVs be fitted stright to the car without any need to remap etc? The car will be remapped anyway due to the milly downpipes being fitted.

Cheers
Louie
